The General Strike called on by the Central Trade Unions to be held on 20.05.2025 has been deferred to 09.07.2025. However, the Central Trade Unions has given call to organise protest demonstrations throughout the country. Accepting this call of the Central Trade Unions, BSNLEU organised protest demonstrations throughout the country today. CHQ of BSNLEU heartily congratulates all the circle and district unions which had organised these demonstrations successfully. 

BSNLEU is taking all out efforts to settle the Wage Revision issue at the earliest. One of the problems faced by the Union is that, most of the Management Side members in the Wage Revision Committee are new, including the Chairman. Most importantly the Finance Wing officer in the Committee retired on 30^th April. In view of this, another Finance Wing officer was appointed as the member of the Committee only one day before the last Wage Revision Committee meeting held on 29.04.2025. The new Management Side members of the Wage Revision Committee are not aware of the developments / discussions that have taken place in the past. This is the reason due to which no fruitful discussion could be held in the Wage Revision Committee meeting held on 29.04.2025. In view of this, BSNLEU has prepared a detailed note addressed to the Chairman of the Wage Revision Committee, with copy to all the Management Side members of the Wage Revision Committee. All the important documents related to the Wage Revision talks are enclosed with the note. Yesterday, Com.P.Abhimanyu, General Secretary, submitted this note to Shri Rajeev Soni, Chairman of the Wage Revision Committee and explained every detail of the Wage Revision talks. Ms. Anita Johri, PGM(SR), was also present during this discussion. Thereafter, the General Secretary met Shri P.D. Chiraniya, PGM (CBB), the newly appointed Finance Wing, member in the Wage Revision Committee and explained all the details. Similar discussion will be held with the remaining Management Side members in the Wage Revision Committee. BSNLEU strongly hopes that this exercise being done by the General Secretary, BSNLEU, will help to bring understanding between the Management Side and Staff Side members in the Wage Revision Committee, so that the Wage Revision agreement could be signed at the earliest. 

The Joint Platform of Central Trade Unions have deferred the General Strike that was scheduled to be organised on 20.05.2025. Now, the strike will be organised on 09.07.2025. At the same time, the Joint Platform of Central Trade Unions have given call to organise protest demonstrations on 20-05-2025. In accordance with this decision, BSNLEU calls on our circle and district unions to organise lunch hour protest demonstrations tomorrow the 20.05.2025 on the following demands:-

1. Opposing the anti-worker and pro-corporate 4 Labour Codes.
2. Immediate settlement of Wage Revision in BSNL – settlement of the burning problem of stagnation.
3. Launching of good quality 4G service by BSNL.
4. Opposing 2nd VRS.
5. Demanding Review of Restructuring and sanctioning of sufficient posts in the Non-Executive cadres.
6. Opposing mindless outsourcing of BSNL’s works.
7. Implementation of New Promotion Policy for the Non-Executives.
8. Immediately fill-up the 8,906 vacant Non-Executive posts.
9. Implementing Minimum Wage, EPF and ESI for the contract workers.

जैसा कि पहले ही सूचित किया जा चुका है, 20.05.2025 को होने वाली आम हड़ताल को 09.07.2025 तक के लिए स्थगित कर दिया गया है। BSNLEU और एनएफटीई ने आज आम हड़ताल को स्थगित करने के लिए सीएमडी बीएसएनएल और सचिव, दूरसंचार को अधिसूचना जारी की है।

As has already been informed, the General Strike that had been scheduled to take place on 20.05.2025, has been deferred to 09.07.2025. BSNLEU and NFTE issued notification to the CMD BSNL and Secretary, Telecom, today for the deferment of the General Strike. 

नए पोप ने कहा कि प्रकृति का दोहन और गरीबों को हाशिए पर धकेलना बंद होना चाहिए।

शिकागो,  अमेरिका में जन्मे रॉबर्ट फ्रांसिस प्रीवोस्ट नए पोप बन गए हैं। उन्होंने अपना नाम पोप लियो XIV रख लिया है। कल, पोप लियो XIV ने सेंट पीटर्स स्क्वायर में आयोजित सामूहिक प्रार्थना सभा में भाग लेने वाले 2 लाख लोगों की विशाल सभा को संबोधित किया। अपने भाषण के दौरान, नए पोप ने प्रकृति का दोहन बंद करने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने गरीबों को हाशिए पर धकेलने पर भी रोक लगाने का आह्वान किया।

संविधान सर्वोच्च है, सुप्रीम कोर्ट के नए मुख्य न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति श्री गवई ने कहा।

भारत के नवनियुक्त 52वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति श्री गवई ने कल कहा कि संविधान सर्वोच्च है। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि संसद के पास संविधान में संशोधन करने का अधिकार है, लेकिन वह “संविधान के मूल ढांचे” में संशोधन नहीं कर सकती। मुख्य न्यायाधीश ने आगे कहा कि, ‘मूल ढांचे के सिद्धांत’ के अनुसार संविधान की कुछ मूलभूत विशेषताएं, जैसे कि इसकी सर्वोच्चता, कानून का शासन और न्यायपालिका की स्वतंत्रता को संसद द्वारा संविधान संशोधन के माध्यम से संशोधित नहीं किया जा सकता। जैसा कि हम जानते हैं, न्यायपालिका, विशेष रूप से सुप्रीम कोर्ट पर सत्तारूढ़ दल द्वारा लगातार हमले किए जा रहे हैं। भारत के माननीय उपराष्ट्रपति श्री जगदीप धनखड़ ने कुछ समय पहले सुप्रीम कोर्ट के अधिकार पर सवाल उठाया था।

The newly appointed 52^nd Chief Justice of India, Justice Shri Gavai has stated yesterday that, the Constitution is supreme. He has also stated that the Parliament has the power to amend the Constitution, but it cannot amend the “basic structure of the Constitution”. The Chief Justice further stated that, the ‘basic structure doctrine’ holds that certain fundamental features of the Constitution, such as it’s supremacy, the rule of law and independence of judiciary cannot be amended by the Parliament through a Constitutional Amendments. As we are aware, the judiciary, especially the Supreme Court is coming under increased attacks from the ruling party. Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, Hon’ble Vice President of India, some time back, had questioned the authority of the Supreme Court.

Robert Francis Prevost, born in Chicago, United States, has become the New Pope. He has taken the name Pope Leo XIV. Yesterday, Pope Leo XIV addressed a massive gathering of 2 lakh people who participated in the mass in St. Peter’s Square. During his speech, the New Pope gave a call for stopping the exploitation of nature. He also called on to stop the marginalising of the poor people.
