The Maharashtra circle BSNL administration is harassing the Scheduled Tribe employees. An outside voluntary organisation has made a baseless complaint to the Maharashtra circle administration, stating that 857 ST employees have entered BSNL service by producing bogus caste certificates. In such a case, the Maharashtra circle administration, based on the various instructions of the DoP&T, should have verified the caste certificate of these employees through their respective district authorities. Instead, the Maharashrashtra circle administration is pressurising the ST employees to get their caste certificates validated through the Scrutiny Committees established by the Maharashtra State Government. BSNLEU is insisting that, being a Public Sector Company, BSNL should only implement the DoP&T orders. BSNLEU has already written many letters on this subject to the Corporate Management. Today, once again BSNLEU has written letter to the Director (HR) on this matter.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has enhanced the maximum limit of retirement gratuity and death gratuity by 25%. According to the EPFO letter dated 30-04-2024, the maximum limit of the retirement gratuity and death gratuity has been increased from Rs.20 lakh to Rs.25 lakh, on account of revision of Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government employees to 50% of the basic pay w.e.f. 01.01.2024.

Com. Animesh Mitra, President, Com. Gundanna C K, AGS and Com. Sisir Roy AGS met Smt.Anita Johri, PGM (SR) at Corporate Office yesterday and discussed certain long pending issues of like promotion of qualified JE candidates in Punjab Circle and  reimbursement cost of the mobile handsets to Non-Executives.  After discussion with the PGM (SR) the union representatives requested to arrange a meeting with the Director (HR). Accordingly, the PGM (SR) agreed to arrange a meeting with Director (HR) on 14th May 2024 at 5:00 pm.  All the issues discussed with PGM (SR) on a preliminary level today, will be discussed with Director (HR) on 14th May 2024.

बीएसएनएल प्रबंधन नोन एक्ज़ीक्यूटिव्स की हर मांग को कंपनी के "अत्यंत वित्तीय संकट" का हवाला देकर खारिज कर देता है। वहीं प्रबंधन एक्ज़ीक्यूटिव्स की मांगों पर उदारतापूर्वक विचार करने में संकोच नहीं करता। कंपनी का "अत्यंत वित्तीय संकट" भी प्रबंधन के लिए एक्ज़ीक्यूटिव्स की मांगों को पूरा करने में आड़े नहीं आता। निश्चित रूप से यह बीएसएनएल प्रबंधन नोन एक्ज़ीक्यूटिव्स के साथ सौतेला व्यवहार कर रहा है। कुछ दिन पहले ही कॉर्पोरेट कार्यालय ने आदेश जारी कर एक्ज़ीक्यूटिव्स द्वारा मोबाइल हैंडसेट खरीदने पर प्रतिपूर्ति राशि में भारी वृद्धि की है। नोन एक्ज़ीक्यूटिव्स खासकर जेई, जेटीओ के समान ही कार्य कर रहे हैं। इसके अलावा, सीनियर टीओए, टीटी और एटीटी भी मार्केटिंग गतिविधियों में मोबाइल फोन का बड़े पैमाने पर उपयोग करते हैं। सभी नोन एक्ज़ीक्यूटिव्स अपने वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों द्वारा प्रभावी संचार के लिए चलाए जा रहे व्हाट्सएप ग्रुप में शामिल हैं। हालांकि, प्रबंधन ने नोन एक्ज़ीक्यूटिव्स को मोबाइल हैंडसेट उपलब्ध कराने की सुविधा नहीं दी है। इसलिए, BSNLEU ने आज सीएमडी बीएसएनएल को पत्र लिखकर मांग की है कि नोन एक्ज़ीक्यूटिव्स को भी मोबाइल हैंडसेट की लागत की प्रतिपूर्ति की सुविधा दी जानी चाहिए। 

The BSNL Management rejects every single demand of the Non-Executives, citing the “extreme financial crisis” of the Company. At the same time, the Management does not hesitate to consider the demands of the Executives liberally and large heartedly. The "extreme financial crisis" of the Company does not come in the way of the Management, in fulfilling the demands of the Executives. Certainly, this BSNL Management is treating the Non-Executives with step-montherly attitude. A few days back, the Corporate Office has issued order, handsomely increasing the reimbursement amount for purchasing mobile handsets by the Executives. The Non-Executives, especially JEs, are doing the same duties of the JTOs. Further, the Sr.TOAs, TTs and ATTs also use mobile phones extensively in marketing activities. All the Non-Executives are included in the WhatsApp groups being run by their superior officers for effective communication. However, Management has not extended the facility of providing mobile handsets to the Non-Executives. Hence, BSNLEU has written letter to the CMD BSNL today, demanding that the Non-Executives should also be extended with the facility of reimbursement of the cost of the mobile handsets. 

BSNLEU has written letter to Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon'ble Minister for Communications, demanding the immediate intervention of the government, for enabling BSNL to launch its 4G service by utilising Vodafone Idea's network. BSNLEU has suggested this via media to stop the massive exodus of customers from BSNL. This letter of BSNLEU has received wide coverage in the mainstream newspapers.
