It is already 04th of November and disbursement of October, 2019, salary is not made. It seems Management is complacent that, the salary for September, 2019, was disbursed only two weeks back and there is no urgency to disburse the October salary immediately. Repeated media reports that, salary disbursement of BSNL employees is not taking place on time, is damaging the image of BSNL and is sending a wrong message to the market. BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL demanding immediate disbursement of salary for the month of October, 2019.
View letterThe DoT has written to the CMD BSNL, expressing it’s concern over the non-payment of salary to the ITS officers on time. It is also stated in the letter that, as per the terms and conditions of deployment of ITS officers in BSNL, it is the responsibility of the Company to make payment of salary to the ITS officers on time. We are surprised to note that the DoT is not worried about the non-payment of salary to the Executives and Non-Executives of BSNL. They are also not worried about the deductions made from the salary of the Executives and Non-Executives, not being sent to the concerned organisations, by BSNL. Further, the contract workers of BSNL are not paid wages for the past 10 months. But, the DoT is not worried about all these, but wants prompt payment of salary to the ITS officers. BSNLEU has written to Shri Anshu Prakash, Secretary, Telecom, cautioning that such partisan attitude will disturb industrial peace in BSNL.
View letterBSNLEU and BSNL CCWF have conducted movements for payment of wage arrears to the contract workers. Now, the AUAB is also taking up this issue with the BSNL Management vigorously. In this regard, the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) has given direction to the CMD BSNL to ensure that the unpaid wage arrears to the contract workers should be paid by BSNL immediately.
View letterThe LIC premium amount, deducted from the salaries of the employees, has not been remitted by BSNL Management, to LIC, since May, 2019. As a result, the employees have become defaulters, which will cause serious complications to the families of the deceased employees. It is a fact that BSNL is a valued customer of LIC, having huge business transactions. BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL, suggesting to take up the issue of belated payment of premium, with the Chairman of the LIC, so that the employees do not suffer on account of the belated remittance by BSNL Management. BSNLEU has already sought the help of the General Secretary of the All India Insurance Employees Association (AIIEA), who has assured to do the needful on this matter, provided a formal letter is written by the CMD BSNL to the Chairman of LIC. BSNLEU will pursue this issue further.
View letterThe BSNL Corporate Office has issued letter, to keep the JE LICE and TT LICE in abeyance, till December, 2019. These exams have to be conducted immediately. Further, the JTO LICE, for the vacancy year 2018-19, has already become due. This exam also has to be held on time. Hence, BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL to hold these examinations without further delay.
View letterJTO LICE under 50% quota was held on 26.05.2019. Despite repeated insistence by the Union, results of this exam are not yet declared. BSNLEU has written to the Director (HR), demanding to sort out the problem involved at the earliest, and to ensure that the results are declared without further delay.
View letterBSNLEU has already written to the GM(Restg.), BSNL CO., opposing the latest guidelines of the Restructuring Branch of the Corporate Office, stating that the Non-Executives could be transferred out of the SSA. BSNLEU has once again written to the Director (HR), demanding to keep the guidelines of the Restructuring Branch under abeyance, and to discuss the issue with the Recognised Unions.
View letterThe Corporate Office has issued revised guidelines for running the Business Areas. Therein, it is stated that SSAs are merged and that Non-Executives can be transferred out of the SSA. No consultation has been held with the Recognised Unions, before issuing such a letter, having far reaching consequences. BSNLEU has strongly protested the contents of this letter and has demanded modification of the letter immediately.
View letterThe deductions being made from the salaries of the employees, on account of GPF, society, bank loan EMI, LIC premium, etc., are not being remitted to the concerned organisations, ever since May, 2019. As a result of this, the employees, especially the lower ranking employees, are suffering extremely due to the non-availability of GPF and society loans. Banks are issuing default notice and levying penal interests. Families of the deceased employees are not getting settlement of LIC policies. Unions / associations are also not getting subscription amount. The Corporate Management is adopting a very casual approach in remitting these amounts. BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL, demanding immediate remittance of these amounts, failing which struggles would become unavoidable.
