A Convention of the Central Public Sector Trade Unions was organised by CITU at Visakhapatnam yesterday. The Convention is held to successfully organise the two day General Strike to be held on 23^rd & 24^thFebruary, 2022. Delegates representing various Central Public Sector Undertakings viz., Petroleum, Natural Gas, Steel, Electricity, Coal, Telecommunications, Engineering, Fertilizers, etc. participated in this Convention. A delegation of BSNLEU, consisting of Com.Animesh Mitra, President, Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, Com.K. Ramadevi, Vice President (CHQ), Com.Latchi Raju, President, AP circle and Com.Sagar, District Secretary, Visakhapatnam took part. Com.K. Hemalata, President, CITU, delivered the presidential address. Com.Tapan Sen, General Secretary, CITU, elaborately spoke on the anti-worker policies of the government and called on the public sector trade unions to make the strike successful. Com.Swadesh Dev Roye, Secretary, CITU, spoke on the attacks being launched on the public sector. Com.P.Abhimanyu, General Secretary, addressed the Convention and explained the preparations being made to organise the General Strike in BSNL.  The Convention has called on the public sector employees to make the General Strike a total success, so that the attacks on the Public Sector and pro-private policies of the government can be defeated.

दिनांक 01-01-2022 से आईडीए-IDA में 4.8% की वृद्धि-increase होगी।

लेबर ब्यूरो-Labour Bureau द्वारा कल 31.12.2021 को जारी उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक संख्या-Consumer Price Index numbers के अनुसार, बीएसएनएल कर्मचारियों-BSNL Employees के आईडीए-IDA (2007 वेतनमान-2007 pay scales) में 01.01.2022 से 4.8% की वृद्धि-increase होने की संभावना है। वर्तमान में 179.3 % प्रतिशत की दर से आईडीए-IDA कर्मचारियों को मिल रहा है ।आईडीए-IDA की 4.8% वृद्धि के साथ दिनांक *01.01.2022 से कर्मचारियों का कुल आईडीए 184.1% होगा।* डीपीई-DPE द्वारा आवश्यक आदेश-Orders जारी करने के बाद ही आईडीए की यह वृद्धि देय है।

As per the Consumer Price Index numbers, released by Labour Bureau yesterday the 31.12.2021, the IDA of BSNL employees (2007 pay scales) is likely to increase by 4.8% w.e.f. 01.01.2022. Presently, 179.3% of IDA is being drawn by the employees. With this 4.8% IDA increase, the total IDA to be drawn by the employees from 01.01.2022 will be 184.1%. This IDA increase is payable only after DPE issues necessary orders.

BSNL is taking serious efforts to increase it’s revenue collections, by way of renting out it’s office space / residential accommodation, etc. In this connection, Shri K. Rajaraman, Secretary, Telecom, has written to the Secretaries of all other departments of the Central Government. In his letter, the Secretary, Telcom, has requested that, all departments of Central and State Governments, CPSEs, state PSEs, Nationalised Banks, etc., may avail BSNL’s office space / residential accommodation on rental basis, which will help BSNL financially. 

Kolkata Telephones circle organised the Convention against National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) on 27.12.2021, in the Subarna Banik Samaj Hall. This programme was organised by the Co-ordination Committee of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and BSNL CCWF. Com.Sanjib Banerjee, CS, AIBDPA, presided over. Com.Subhas Mukherjee, President, CITU, inaugurated the Convention.  Com.Animesh Mitra, President, Com.Sisir Roy, Convenor, CoC, Com.Shankar Nepal, CS, BSNLEU, Com.Debabrata Bose, AIBDPA, and Com.Tapas Banerjee, CS, BSNLCCWF, addressed the Convention. All the speakers severely criticised the decision of the government to hand over valuable national assets to the corporates, in the name of the National Monetisation Pipeline.

BSNLEU is continuously pressing on the Management for the immediate payment of the wage arrears of the contract workers. When this issue was discussed with the CMD BSNL last week, he told that, except in West Bengal circle, payment of wage arrears of the contract workers, is not pending in any circle. However, the CHQ is receiving complaints from various circles that, wage arrears of the contract workers are not paid even up to 18 months in some circles. Hence, all the circle secretaries are requested to inform the CHQ about the status of payment of wages to the contract workers in their respective circles. This will enable the CHQ to take up the issue effectively with the CMD BSNL.

BSNLEU is demanding that all the LICEs of the Non-Executives should be conducted without further delay. Yesterday the CHQ wrote to the CMD BSNL on this issue. Today, Com.Irfan Pasha, Organising Secretary (CHQ) met the nodal officer for this issue, viz., Shri Saurabh Tyagi, Sr.GM(EStt.), BSNL CO. and demanded that notification should be issued for conducting all the LICEs for the Non-Executives. The Sr.GM(Estt.) replied that action is being taken in this regard.
