BSNLEU observes May Day every year in a befitting manner. In accordance with this, the CHQ calls upon all the circle and district unions to celebrate this year’s May Day effectively. BSNLEU’s Red Flag may be hoisted in all circles and BAs / OAs. Special May Day meetings may be conducted in all BAs. Apart from this, May Day may be observed by organising rallies and public meetings together with the Central Trade Unions and other Fraternal Trade Unions wherever possible.

सीएचक्यू ने पहले ही BSNLEU की केंद्रीय कार्यकारी समिति-CEC की बैठक छह और सात मई, 2023 को भोपाल में आयोजित करने के लिए अधिसूचना जारी कर दी है । इस संबंध में आगे यह सूचित किया जाता है कि सीईसी बैठक का स्थान निम्नदर्शित है ।

The CHQ has already issued notification for holding the central executive committee meeting of BSNLEU, Bhopal, on 06th and 07th May, 2023. In this connection, it is further informed that the following is the venue of the CEC meeting.

Shri Prakash Singh Badal, leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal and the 5 time Chief Minister of Punjab, passed away yesterday. He was 95 years old. Shri Badal was first elected to the Punjab Assembly in 1957. In 1970, he became the youngest Chief Minister of India. He served as Chief Minister of Punjab during 1970-71 ; 1977-1980 ; 1997-2002 and from 2007-2017. The Government of India awarded him the 2^nd highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan in 2015. Shri Badal broke Shiromani Akali Dal’s alliance with the BJP and openly came out in support of the nationwide Farmer’s Agitation that shook the country. BSNLEU pays it’s respectful homage to Shri Prakash Singh Badal. 

कड़े विरोध के बीच तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री ने मजदूर विरोधी संशोधन पर रोक लगाने की घोषणा की ।

तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री ने कल घोषणा की कि उनकी सरकार ने फ़ैक्टरी (तमिलनाडु संशोधन) अधिनियम, 2023 पर आगे की कार्रवाई पर रोक लगा दी है, जिसमें काम के घंटों को आठ घंटे से अधिक बढ़ाने की योजना बनाई गई है । इससे पहले, सीआईटीयू, एआईटीयूसी, एएनटीयूसी और एलपीएफ सहित सभी ट्रेड यूनियनों की एक संयुक्त समिति ने काम के घंटों में वृद्धि का विरोध करने के लिए 12-05-2023 को हड़ताल पर जाने की चेतावनी दी थी । आगे, कांग्रेस, एमडीएमके, माकपा, भाकपा, वीसीके, मुस्लिम लीग, मनिथनेय मक्कल काची और तमिलागा वझवुरिमई काची जैसे राजनीतिक दलों ने तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री को पत्र लिखकर मजदूर विरोधी कदम रोकने की मांग की है ।

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister announced yesterday, his government’s decision to put on hold further action on the Factories (Tamil Na­du Amendment) Act, 2023, which envisages increasing of the working hours beyond eight­ hour. Earlier, a Joint Committee of all trade unions, comprising CITU, AITUC, INTUC and LPF, had warned of going on a strike on 12.05.2023 to op­pose the increase in working hours. Further, political parties including Congress, MDMK, CPI(M), CPI, VCK, Muslim League, Ma­nithaneya Makkal Katchi and Tamilaga Vazhvuri­mai Katchi have written letter to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, demanding to give up the “anti­la­ labour” step.

BSNLEU काम के घंटे को प्रतिदिन 8 घंटे से 12 घंटे तक बढ़ाने की कड़ी निंदा करता है।

यह जानकर हैरानी होती है कि, तमिलनाडु सरकार ने राज्य विधानसभा में प्रतिदिन काम के घंटे 8 घंटे से 12 घंटे तक बढ़ाने के लिए एक विधेयक पारित किया है। तमिलनाडु के उद्योग मंत्री ने स्पष्ट किया है कि, बहुराष्ट्रीय कंपनियां, जो तमिलनाडु में नए उद्योग शुरू करना चाहती हैं वह जोरदार मांग करती हैं कि "काम के घंटों में लचीलापन।" हो । "काम के घंटों में लचीलापन" का क्या अर्थ है ? इसका अर्थ है कि उद्योगकार श्रमिकों से जितने घंटे चाहें उतने घंटे काम करवा सकते हैं। मजदूर वर्ग ने शिकागो संघर्ष से शुरू कर 8 घंटे का कार्य दिवस हासिल करने के लिए दुनिया भर में अपना खून बहा कर संघर्ष किया था। "8 घंटे काम, 8 घंटे की नींद और 8 घंटे का मनोरंजन" शिकागो के उन शहीदों का नारा है, जिन्होंने प्रतिदिन 8 घंटे काम करके अपनी जान कुर्बान कर दी। सत्तारूढ़ डीएमके सरकार ने अपने स्वयं के गठबंधन सहयोगियों के विरोध को भी दरकिनार कर दिया था और काम के घंटे को प्रति दिन 12 घंटे तक बढ़ाने के लिए विधेयक पारित किया था। यह निंदनीय है। BSNLEU की मांग है कि तमिलनाडु सरकार को तमिलनाडु विधानसभा में पारित विधेयक को तुरंत रद्द करना चाहिए।

It is shocking to note that, the Tamil Nadu government has passed a bill in the State Assembly for increasing the working hours from 8 hrs. to 12 hrs. per day. The Industries Minister of Tamil Nadu has explained that, the Multinational Companies, which want to start new industries in Tamil Nadu, strongly demand “flexibility in working hours.” What is the meaning of “flexibility in working hours.”?  It means the employers can make the workers to work as many hours as they want. The working class, starting from the Chicago struggle, had struggled by shedding their blood world over, for achieving 8 hours working day. “8 hours work, 8 hours sleep and 8 hours entertainment” is the slogan of the martyrs of Chicago,, who sacrificed their lives for achieving 8 hours working per day. The ruling DMK government had brushed aside the opposition of even it’s own alliance partners and has passed the bill to extend the working hours up to 12 hours per day. This is condemnable. BSNLEU demands that, the Tamil Nadu government should immediately nullify the bill passed in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
