ग्रुप टर्म इंश्योरेंस (GTI) जारी रखने पर मैनेजमेंट के साथ चर्चा – BSNLEU ने नॉन-एग्जीक्यूटिव्स के लिए 50 लाख रुपये के इंश्योरेंस कवरेज की मांग की।
आज कॉर्पोरेट ऑफिस में बीएसएनएल के एग्जीक्यूटिव्स और नॉन-एग्जीक्यूटिव्स दोनों के लिए ग्रुप टर्म इंश्योरेंस (GTI) पॉलिसी के रिन्यूअल पर चर्चा करने के लिए एक मीटिंग हुई। मीटिंग के दौरान, GTI पॉलिसी के रिन्यूअल के लिए ट्रांसफर शर्तों के संबंध में LIC द्वारा प्रस्तुत प्रस्ताव मान्यता प्राप्त यूनियनों और एसोसिएशनों के महासचिवों/प्रतिनिधियों को सौंपा गया। प्रस्ताव को विस्तार से समझाते हुए, श्री राजीव कुमार शर्मा, डीजीएम (एडमिन/पीआर) ने बीएसएनएल कर्मचारियों के लिए GTI योजना के वार्षिक रिन्यूअल के लिए LIC द्वारा रखी गई शर्तों और नियमों के बारे में विस्तार से बताया। चर्चा में बताया गया कि वर्तमान में GTI पॉलिसी धारकों की संख्या 14,521 एग्जीक्यूटिव्स और 6,369 नॉन-एग्जीक्यूटिव्स है। मैनेजमेंट ने आश्वासन दिया कि GTI योजना जारी रहेगी, और मौजूदा शर्तों और नियमों के अनुसार पॉलिसी को रिन्यू करने के लिए LIC के साथ बातचीत की जाएगी। BSNLEU की ओर से, साथी अनिमेष मित्रा, महासचिव ने उन नॉन-एग्जीक्यूटिव्स के लिए इंश्येंस कवरेज को बढ़ाकर ₹50 लाख करने की मांग पुरजोर तरीके से उठाई, जो मौजूदा LIC की शर्तों और नियमों के तहत जारी रखना चाहते हैं। इस मांग पर जवाब देते हुए, मैनेजमेंट ने LIC अधिकारियों के साथ इस मुद्दे को उठाने पर सहमति व्यक्त की और आश्वासन दिया कि BSNLEU की मांग को सोमवार को होने वाली LIC के साथ चर्चा के अगले दौर में औपचारिक रूप से रखा जाएगा।
A meeting was held today at the Corporate Office to discuss the renewal of the Group Term Insurance (GTI) policy for both Executives and Non-Executives of BSNL. During the meeting, the proposal submitted by LIC regarding the transfer conditions for renewal of the GTI policy was handed over to the General Secretaries / Representatives of the recognised unions and associations. Explaining the proposal in detail, Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma, DGM (Admn./PR) elaborated on the terms and conditions put forward by LIC for the annual renewal of the GTI scheme for BSNL employees. In the discussion, it was informed that the present number of GTI policyholders is 14,521 Executives and 6,369 Non-Executives. The Management assured that the GTI scheme will be continued, and that negotiations will be held with LIC to renew the policy at par with the existing terms and conditions. On behalf of BSNLEU, Com. Animesh Mitra, General Secretary, strongly raised the demand to enhance the insurance coverage for Non-Executives up to ₹50 lakhs, for those who are willing to continue under the existing LIC terms and conditions. Responding to the demand, the Management agreed to take up the issue with LIC authorities and assured that the demand of BSNLEU would be formally represented in the next round of discussions with LIC, scheduled to be held on Monday.
An enthusiastic Extended CEC Meeting of the Odisha Circle was held at the Telephone Exchange Conference Hall, Bhubaneswar, on 25th January 2026. Circle office bearers and district secretaries of BSNLEU participated in the meeting, along with leaders of AIBDPA. At the outset, Com. Kameswar Rao, CS, explained the background for convening the meeting and the necessity of BSNL workers joining the countrywide strike on 12th February 2026. Senior leaders including Com. A. Dhupal (AIBDPA), Com. Saroj Ranjan Das (Ex-CS), Com. Sarat Mohanti, President, and Com. S. K. Bhattacharya were present. Com. Santosh Kumar Ray, Organising Secretary (CHQ), also addressed the meeting on staff-related issues. District secretaries and CWC members shared their views and highlighted the hardships faced by employees. Responding to the discussions, Com. Animesh Mitra, GS, BSNLEU, explained the present situation prevailing in the country and also in BSNL. He highlighted the significance of the Wage Agreement and the role played by BSNLEU, clarified various staff issues raised by the delegates, and elaborated on the implications of the Labour Codes and Shram Shakti Niti-2025 on future trade union activities. He appealed to all BSNL workers to participate wholeheartedly in the 12th February 2026 countrywide strike. A good number of women comrades participated in the meeting, and a new office bearers’ body of BSNLWWCC, Odisha Circle, was formed. At the conclusion, the Odisha Circle Union resolved to achieve a massive victory in the forthcoming Membership Verification.
BA/OA level conventions are being organised in full swing across Tamil Nadu as part of the campaign to mobilise employees and contract workers against the anti-working-class and pro-corporate policies of the Central Government and to ensure massive participation in the All India General Strike on 12th February 2026. Conventions were held at Virudhunagar, Madurai, Tuticorin and Tirunelveli. Leaders of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and TNTCWU addressed the meetings, criticised the anti-worker and anti-PSU policies of the Modi Government, explained the Wage Agreement, highlighted the role of BSNLEU CHQ, briefed the status of BSNL’s 4G and 5G services, and highlighted the hardships faced by contract workers. Speakers also stressed the importance of communal harmony and the urgent need for united action. The speakers unanimously appealed to all employees and contract workers to ensure massive participation in the 12th February 2026 General Strike. Com. A. Baburadhakrishnan, Circle President, Tamil Nadu circle and other office bearers of the circle union had attended in all these BA level conventions and narrated the present situation in the country and in BSNL. Com.S. Chellappa, AGS, has also visited the other meetings in different BA like Vellore, Cuddalore, Salem and Chennai. They had requested the workers to join the strike on 12th February, 2026. These conventions reflected the growing unity and determination of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and TNTCWU to intensify the struggle and ensure the success of the All India General Strike on 12th February 2026.
The BSNLEU, AIBDPA, and BSNLCCWF Coordination Committee held a BA-level convention in Nizamabad on 28-01-2026, attended by over 100 delegates from Nizamabad BA and Adilabad OAs. Com.E. V. L. Narayana, District Secretary, BSNLEU, Nizamabad, welcomed the gathering. The convention was presided over by Com.Sailoo, District President, AIBDPA, Nizamabad. Com.G. Sambasiva Rao, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, highlighted the 3rd Wage Revision, 4G Services and February 12th strike demands, urging all BSNL employees to actively participate and make the nationwide strike a success, in protest against the anti-labour, anti-employee, and pro-corporate policies of the Modi Government. Com.Ramachandrudu, CS, AIBDPA and Com.B. Paripoorna Chari, CS, BSNLCCWF, appealed to pensioners and workers to join and oppose the new labour codes. Com.M. Tirumalacharyulu, AGS, AIBDPA, Com. E.V.L. Narayana, DS, Nizamabad and Com.Bhadraiah, DS, BSNLEU Adilabad OA, stressed unity, sustained struggles and the importance of making the General Strike a grand success. The convention concluded with a vote of thanks and a unanimous resolution to fully support the strike.
