The notification for the Senior Executive Trainee (SET) examination for external candidates has been strongly opposed by unions and associations. The issue was discussed in the BSNLEU CEC meeting held at Mangaluru from 31^st January to 01^st February 2026, where the management’s move was sharply criticised. While LICE for departmental candidates (TM/JE/JTO) remain pending in a large number of circles and posts are being reduced in the name of cadre restructuring, the management has opted for open market recruitment. The CEC of BSNLEU has condemned this contradictory approach. In a positive development, the unions and associations submitted a common memorandum to the management on 02^nd February, 2026, demanding the immediate stoppage of SET recruitment and the scrapping of the ongoing examination.

The Central Executive Committee (CEC) Meeting of BSNLEU was held on 31st January 2025 at TRC Hall, Telephone Exchange, Mangalore. The meeting was inaugurated by Com. V.A.N. Namboodiri, Founder General Secretary of BSNLEU. At the outset, Com. Tanveer Pasha, District Secretary, delivered the welcome address and greeted all the delegates who had attended the CEC Meeting from different corners of the country. Com. M. Vijay Kumar (President), Com.Animesh Mitra (General Secretary) and Com.H.V. Sudarshan (Assistant General Secretary) addressed the gathering and spoke in detail on the prevailing political situation, the ongoing crisis in BSNL, and key organisational tasks. The CEC expressed serious concern over attempts to dilute pension rules and discussed the alarming deterioration in BSNL mobile services across the country.  The meeting called for intensive mobilisation for the General Strike on 12th February 2026, demanding approval of the wage agreement through relaxation of the affordability clause by the Central Government. Full support was also extended to contract workers and the National Convention scheduled on 7th March 2026 in New Delhi. The discussions will continue till 1st February 2026.

Based on the persuasion and consistent efforts of CHQ, the Corporate Office has issued guidelines to the Maharashtra Circle seeking clarification and necessary action regarding the long-pending issue of caste status verification in BSNL. On 07^th January 2026, CHQ addressed a letter to the CMD BSNL, requesting immediate intervention for settlement of the prolonged problem arising due to the non-issuance of clear guidelines from the Corporate Office to the Maharashtra Circle. Pursuant to this, the Corporate Office issued a letter to the Maharashtra Circle on 15^th January 2026, directing the Circle Administration to take necessary action on the issue. Subsequently, the Maharashtra Circle Administration has communicated the latest position to the Corporate Office on 27.01.2026, which has since been forwarded to CHQ for information. As per the clarification given by the Circle Administration, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued guidelines on 30.01.2025 to continue provisional pension only to the affected employees. However, all other pensionary benefits such as gratuity, ex-gratia, commutation, etc., are being withheld until completion of the caste status verification process. Although the issue was discussed in the National Council meeting held on 13.01.2025, the Management has failed to resolve the matter through meaningful discussions with the DoT and the CCA, resulting in continued hardship to the affected employees. CHQ reiterates that this issue requires urgent intervention and a permanent solution, and will continue to pursue the matter at the appropriate level to safeguard the legitimate pensionary rights of the affected employees.

हड़ताल अभियान कार्यक्रम ज़ोर पकड़ रहा है – कोलकाता टेलीफ़ोन में विशाल कन्वेंशन आयोजित।

12 फरवरी 2026 को अखिल भारतीय आम हड़ताल के लिए एक विशाल अभियान आयोजित करने के लिए सीएचक्यू  द्वारा दिए गए आह्वान के जवाब में, BSNLEU, AIBDPA और BSNLCCWF, कोलकाता टेलीफ़ोन की समन्वय समिति ने 29.01.2026 को कोलकाता के सीटीओ हॉल में एक बड़ा और सफल कन्वेंशन आयोजित किया। कन्वेंशन में नियमित कर्मचारियों, पेंशनभोगियों और ठेका श्रमिकों की प्रभावशाली भागीदारी देखी गई, जो बीएसएनएल कर्मचारियों के सभी वर्गों के बीच बढ़ती एकता को दर्शाता है। शुरुआत में, साथी  शिशिर रॉय, संयोजक, बीएसएनएल समन्वय समिति, ने कोलकाता में ऐसे कन्वेंशन आयोजित करने की आवश्यकता और महत्व के बारे में बताया। साथी  आभास रॉय चौधरी, उपाध्यक्ष, सीआईटीयू, ने कन्वेंशन का उद्घाटन किया और देश के वर्तमान राजनीतिक और आर्थिक परिदृश्य पर विस्तार से बताया, जिसमें बीएसएनएल पर लगातार हो रहे हमलों पर प्रकाश डाला गया। साथी  संजीव बनर्जी, साथी  जयंत घोष, साथी  देबब्रत बसु, साथी  मनीषा बिस्वास, साथी  अघोर सिकदर और साथी  शंकर नेपाल की एक प्रेसीडियम ने कुशलतापूर्वक बैठक की कार्यवाही का संचालन किया। साथी  शिशिर रॉय, अध्यक्ष, AIBDPA और साथी  शंकर नेपाल, सर्कल सचिव, BSNLEU, ने सभा को संबोधित किया और बीएसएनएल की वर्तमान स्थिति, प्रबंधन की भूमिका, बीएसएनएल सेवाओं का महत्व, ठेका मजदूरों की छंटनी और अन्य संबंधित मुद्दों पर विस्तार से बात की। वक्ताओं ने तीसरे पीआरसी के लिए संयुक्त संघर्ष के महत्व पर भी प्रकाश डाला। कन्वेंशन ने सर्वसम्मति से हड़ताल अभियान को और मजबूत करने के लिए हर ओए और बीए स्तर पर इसी तरह के कन्वेंशन आयोजित करने का संकल्प लिया। कार्यक्रम ने स्पष्ट रूप से BSNLEU, AIBDPA, CORTO, CTTMU और EPFPA की बढ़ती एकता, दृढ़ संकल्प और जुझारूपन को दर्शाया ताकि संघर्ष को तेज किया जा सके और 12 फरवरी, 2026 को अखिल भारतीय आम हड़ताल की शानदार सफलता सुनिश्चित की जा सके।

BSNLWWCC का अखिल भारतीय सम्मेलन मुंबई में होगा।

बीएसएनएल वर्किंग विमेन कोऑर्डिनेशन कमेटी (BSNLWWCC) का अखिल भारतीय सम्मेलन 28 मार्च, 2026 को मुंबई में होने का प्रस्ताव है। महाराष्ट्र सर्कल के नेतृत्व में मुंबई जिला यूनियन ने इस सम्मेलन को आयोजित करने की ज़िम्मेदारी लेने पर सहमति जताई है। सीएचक्यू  ने इस कार्यक्रम की मेज़बानी के लिए सहमति देने पर महाराष्ट्र सर्कल और मुंबई जिला यूनियनों की सराहना की है। 22.01.2026 को मुंबई में बीए-स्तरीय सम्मेलन के दौरान हुई चर्चाओं के बाद, तारीख और जगह को अस्थायी रूप से 28 मार्च 2026 तय किया गया है। अंतिम मंज़ूरी के लिए यह प्रस्ताव आने वाली सीईसी बैठक और BSNLWWCC बैठक में रखा जाएगा। BSNLWWCC के समिति सदस्यों से औपचारिक अधिसूचना जारी करने के लिए एक ऑनलाइन बैठक बुलाने का अनुरोध किया गया है।
