Historic CEC meeting of BSNLEU held at Mangalore - Workers to go on strike demanding Wage Agreement approval.
The Central Executive Committee (CEC) Meeting of BSNLEU was held on 31st January 2025 at TRC Hall, Telephone Exchange, Mangalore. The meeting was inaugurated by Com. V.A.N. Namboodiri, Founder General Secretary of BSNLEU. At the outset, Com. Tanveer Pasha, District Secretary, delivered the welcome address and greeted all the delegates who had attended the CEC Meeting from different corners of the country. Com. M. Vijay Kumar (President), Com.Animesh Mitra (General Secretary) and Com.H.V. Sudarshan (Assistant General Secretary) addressed the gathering and spoke in detail on the prevailing political situation, the ongoing crisis in BSNL, and key organisational tasks. The CEC expressed serious concern over attempts to dilute pension rules and discussed the alarming deterioration in BSNL mobile services across the country. The meeting called for intensive mobilisation for the General Strike on 12th February 2026, demanding approval of the wage agreement through relaxation of the affordability clause by the Central Government. Full support was also extended to contract workers and the National Convention scheduled on 7th March 2026 in New Delhi. The discussions will continue till 1st February 2026.
