View of the meetingOnce, India was the world champion in men's hockey. It has won gold medal 8 times in the Olympics. But, for the last 41 years, India has not won any medal in the Olympics. It was in 1980, that India won gold medal last time in hockey. But, this time, Indian hockey team has put in excellent performance in the Tokyo Olympics. Yesterday, India defeated the powerful German team and won the Bronze medal. This is a great come back for the Indian Hockey team. Let us hope that, India will regain it's past glory in the next Olympics.
Recently, the Deutsche Bank has suggested that, the Vodafone Idea should be merged with BSNL. Following this, more voices have started coming, in favour of the merger of Vodafone Idea with BSNL. It is important to note that, Vodafone Idea is having a huge debt of $30 billion (Rs.2,25,000 crore). In the January to April Quarter of 2021, Vodafone Idea’s loss is Rs.3,022 crore. Above all, customers are leaving Vodafone Idea massively. In two months alone, i.e., November & December, 2019, 4 core customers left Vodafone Idea. This trend is continuing and lakhs of customers are leaving Vodafone Idea every month. Today, Kumarmangalam Birla has resigned from the Chairman post of Vodafone Idea. Under these circumstances the merger of Vodafone Idea with BSNL will be suicidal for BSNL.
