AUAB organised a Twitter Campaign on 08.03.2022, against the arbitrary order issued by the DoT, for grabbing the ALTTC, Ghaziabad, which is BSNL’s prestigious training centre. The Twitter Campaign was also organised against the arbitrary grabbing of BSNL’s lands, buildings and office spaces in various circles. This Twitter Campaign organised by the AUAB was highly successful. More than 10,000 tweets were made and it became trending. BSNLEU heartily congratulates all the comrades who actively took part in the Twitter Campaign.

SNATTA is organising black badge wearing demonstrations on 14.03.2022, on important issues, including the issue of non-availability of sufficient vacancies for the JTO LICE. The All India Centre meeting of BSNLEU, held online on 05.03.2022 has decided to support this agitation. Hence, the CHQ requests members of BSNLEU to join the black badge wearing demonstrations to be organised on 14.03.2022, by SNATTA.

The CHQ has already given call to organise a week long “Meet the Employees programme”, from 8th March, 2022. The CHQ has also directed that the pamphlets issued by the CHQ for organising the General Strike, should be distributed to each and every employee during this “Meet the Employees programme”. During this programme, each and every employee should be personally met and convinced for joining the forthcoming General Strike, to be organised on 28th & 29th March, 2022. If the programme is not yet started, then it should be conducted for one full week from the date on which it is started. This is a very important task for organising the General Strike. Hence, circle secretaries are requested to kindly ensure that the “Meet the Employees programme” is successfully organised in each and every district. Photos and reports about the programme may be e-mailed to the CHQ on bsnleuchq@gmail.com.

The Co-Ordination Committee (CoC) of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF gave call to organise black badge wearing demonstrations and submitting of memorandum to the GMs and CGMs on 25.01.2022. However, this programme could not be organised due to the third wave of the COVID-19. Now, the CoC has decided to organise this programme on 10.03.2022. All the circle and district unions are requested to organise this programme successfully, demanding settlement of the following issues.

  1. Immediate payment of IDA arrears to the Non-Executives.

The BSNL Management is deliberately delaying payment of the frozen IDA arrears to the Non-Executives. The Management is taking revenge and not paying the IDA arrears, since BSNLEU took the matter to the Hon’ble Kerala High Court, against the freezing of the IDA.

  1. Do not discriminate the retired employees in the payment of medical bills.

Blatant discrimination is being meted out to the retired employees, by the BSNL Management, in the matter of payment of medical bills. The Management is intentionally delaying the payment of medical bills to the retired employees, with the view to force them to leave the BSNL MRS and migrate to the CGHS. Payment of Medical Allowance to the retired employees had also been stopped.

  1. Do not treat the Non-Executives with stepmotherly attitude.

The BSNL Management is treating the Non-Executives with stepmotherly attitude, in the matter of promotion. The Management is conducting eye-wash JTO LICE and JE LICE after abolishing maximum of the promotional posts of the Non-Executive cadres. Further unrealistic condition is being imposed in the JAO RR, which warrants 5 years of service in the NE-9 pay scale for appearing in the JAO LICE.

  1. Immediately pay wage arrears of the contract workers.

Management is not paying the wage arrears of the contract workers. In many places, wages are not paid to the contract workers even up to 18 months. This is also nothing but the vindictive action of the CMD BSNL.
