9th Membership Verification meeting was held in Ghaziabad on 24.09.2022, It was presided over by Com. Ansar Ali, Com. Animesh Mitra, President, CHQ, explained about the role of BSNLEU in getting the GTI, BCF, Medical insurance and also highlighted the negatives of the Revival package of the Government Upendra Singh Tevotia, Com. Ashwin Kumar, Assistant General Secretary, SNATTA, Com. Ramesh Chandra Gupta, District Secretary, Jaiveer Tyagi, also addressed the gathering. Puneet Kumar, Circle Secretary, ensured more than 51 percent vote for BSNLEU.
Views of the meetingCom.N.D. Ram is making a false propaganda that BSNLEU opposed the nomination of a SEWA member to the National Council.
NFTE is also propagating that only because of BSNLEU, National Council meeting has not taken place for the past 3 years. Both Com.N.D. Ram and Com. Chandeshwar Singh are telling lies. BSNLEU has never opposed the nomination of a SEWA member to the National Council.
NFTE nominated a non-member (a person who is not a member of NFTE) to the National Council. But, when BSNLEU nominated a non-member (a person who is not a member of BSNLEU) earlier, it was not accepted by the Management. Hence, BSNLEU only demanded that it should also be given the right to nominate a non-member to the National Council. A copy of BSNLEU’s letter written to the Director HR on this issue is enclosed. From this, it becomes clear that both Com.N.D. Ram and Com.Chandeshwar Singh are telling lies and are cheating the employees.
In NFTE’s meeting held at Chennai on 08.10.2022, Com.Chandeshwar Singh, GS, NFTE, has stated that “the immature and arrogant attitude of Com.Abhimanyu is standing in the way of settlement of many important issues.”
The BSNL Management has abolished thousands of posts in the name of Restructuring and has ruined the promotions of our young employees. The Management is threatening the employees with dismissal under FR 56(J), increasing the working hours up to 12 hours per day and also bringing 2nd VRS. According to Com.Chandeshwar Singh, the Management, which has taken the above measures is not arrogant. That is why, NFTE leaders are dancing with the CMD BSNL. At the same time, Com.P.Abhimanyu, who is fighting against the anti-employee measures of the Management, appears to be arrogant to Com.Chandeshwar Singh. It is a tragedy that NFTE has become a puppet in the hands of the Management.
A mischievous propaganda is being made by NFTE that, only because of BSNLEU, the employees appointed after 01.01.2007 did not get 78.2% fixation. We can only laugh at this statement. Last Wage Revision was implemented w.e.f. 01.01.2007. It means, only those employees who were on roll as on 31.12.2006 are entitled for the Wage Revision w.e.f. 01.01.2007. Those who are appointed after 01.01.2007, are not covered by this Wage Revision. The General Secretary of NFTE should first understand the basic things before making statements among employees.
NFTE is propagating that the important issues of the Non-Executives, like Wage Revision, stagnation, etc., are not settled only because of BSNLEU. NFTE is also cheating the employees by saying that, NFTE is not having any power, since it is only the 2nd Recognised Union. However, the Corporate Office letter attached here says that, both BSNLEU and NFTE are having equal rights and power. Now, NFTE should explain to the employees, why it has not settled any of the issues of the Non-Executives, even though it is the Recognised Union for the past 9 years. NFTE has wasted it’s Recognition for the past 9 years. What is the use of giving Recognition to NFTE once again?
The CHQ of BSNLEU is saddened to know that, Com.P.V.Chandrasekaran, affectionately called as PVC, has passed away. He had been unwell and breathed his last in a hospital at Ernakulam, Kerala, at 09:30 pm last night. Com.PVC was deeply committed to the working class movement and has played a significant role in the foundation as well as in the strengthening of BSNLEU. The CHQ of BSNLEU deeply mourns the passing away of Com.PVC. Red salutes to Com.PVC.
The Chennai Telephones Circle Union of SEWA BSNL has appealed to the SC/ST employees not to vote for NFTE. The SEWA BSNL, Chennai Telephones Circle Union, has placed a big hoarding at the Anna Road telephone exchange at Chennai. Through this hoarding, the SEWA BSNL, Chennai telephones circle has accused that, C.K.Madhivanan, NFTE Circle Secretary of Chennai telephones Circle, had insulted the leaders of SEWA BSNL, for questioning the corruption, that is going on in the Telecom Employees Cooperative Society, functioning at Chennai. SEWA BSNL had also accused that, C.K.Madhivanan had insulted SEWA BSNL as a “Castist Organisation” and had also insulted the leaders of SEWA BSNL as “Castist Leaders”.
