It is reported that, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways has announced the decision of the government to form the 8^th Central Pay Commission (8^th CPC) for the Central Government employees. The 7^th Central Pay Commission's recommendations were implemented in 2016 and it's period is upto 2026. Now, one year before the end of the term of the 7^th CPC, the government has announced the formation of the 8^th CPC.   

Shri A. Robert J. Ravi took charge as the CMD BSNL in July, 2024 and his tenure ends on 14.01.2025. Now, the Ministry of Communications, vide it’s order dated 14^th January, 2025, has extended the tenure of Shri A. Robert J. Ravi, as a CMD of BSNL, for another 3 months, i.e., till 14.04.2025.

BSNLEU's circle secretaries and central office bearers, who participated in the online CEC meeting of BSNLEU, held on 12-01-2025,  expressed their extreme dissatisfaction about the quality of BSNL's 4G service. The CEC members pointed out that, the customers were getting at least good quality voice service, before 4G service was started. However, after the starting of BSNL's 4G service, customers are neither getting good quality voice service nor data service. Further, our employees are also facing the anger of the customers, due to the extremely poor quality of BSNL's 4G service. Hence, the CHQ of BSNLEU has written a letter to the CMD BSNL today, communicating the views expressed by the CEC members and also requesting to take remedial action at the earliest, for improving the quality of BSNL's 4G service.

The CEC meeting of BSNLEU was held online on 12.01.2025. The meeting discussed and has taken decisions on important issues and on the next All India Conference to be held in Tamil Nadu circle, in July, 2025. This circular is sent to all the circle secretaries and central office bearers. Hindi version of this circular will also be sent shortly. Circle secretaries are requested to send this circular to their district secretaries also. Circle secretaries of the non-Hindi speaking circles are requested to translate the circular into their regional language and forward the same to the district secretaries. The CHQ seeks the cooperation of all the circle unions for the effective implementation of the decisions of the CEC meeting.
