A good number of the employees have been recruited and were sent for training by the DoT, before the formation of BSNL. However, before completion of their training, BSNL was formed and all those employees were treated as BSNL Recruitees. Thus, they were not issued with Presidential Orders and were not covered by GPF. BSNLEU repeatedly took up this issue by writing letters to the CMD BSNL and to the Secretary, Telecom. In the meanwhile, the affected employees went to court. Many of the Hon’ble CATs and Hon’ble High Courts gave order in favour of the employees. However, the BSNL Management, as per the directive of the DoT, appealed in the Supreme Court. In the hearing held on 26.07.2023, the Hon’ble Supreme Court dismissed the appeal (SLP) filed by the BSNL. This is a very big victory to the hundreds of employees who have been denied justice. Consequent to this, BSNLEU has written letter to the Secretary, Telecom, today, with copy to the CMD BSNL and the Director (HR), demanding immediate implementation of the Hon’ble Supreme Court order in respect of all the employees who were recruited and sent for training by the DoT, but who were treated as BSNL Recruitees. 

Nearly 16.4 lakh customers have left BSNL in June, 2023 quarter. This is informed by Shri Devusinh Chauhan, Minister of State for Communications in a written reply in Lokh Sabha. The Hon’ble MoS(C) has also stated that, nearly 2.77 lakh customers ported into BSNL during this period. According to the reply given by the Minister, about 65.8 lakh customers have left BSNL during the period from April, 2022 to March, 2023.

मणिपुर में शांति बहाल करने की मांग को लेकर BSNLEU और बीएसएनएल वर्किंग वुमेन कोऑर्डिनेशन कमेटी (बीएसएनएलडब्ल्यूडब्ल्यूसीसी) द्वारा बुलाया गया प्रदर्शन जबरदस्त सफल रहा है। अधिकांश सर्किलों में बड़े पैमाने पर कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया है । कार्यक्रम के सफल आयोजन के लिए BSNLEU और बीएसएनएलडब्ल्यूडब्ल्यूसीसी सभी सर्किल और जिला यूनियनों को हार्दिक बधाई देते हैं।

The demonstrations called on by BSNLEU and the BSNL Working Women’s Coordination Committee (BSNLWWCC), demanding to restore peace in Manipur, has become a tremendous success. The programme has been organised massively in most of the circles. Both BSNLEU and BSNLWWCC heartily congratulates all the circle and district unions, for successfully organising the programme.
