Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, father of India’s Green Revolution passed away yesterday. He was 98 years old. Dr. M.S. Swaminathan was a world reputed Agriculture Scientist who played a key-role in transforming India from a food-scarce nation into a food grain exporting nation. More than a scientist, Shri M.S. Swaminathan had always been a humanist first. His heart always beat for the poor. BSNLEU pays it’s respectful homage to Shri M.S. Swaminathan and conveys it’s heartfelt condolences to his family members.
As regards the verification of the caste certificates of the ST officials of Maharashtra circle, BSNLEU has already written to the Director (HR) and demanded that the ST officials who actually did not gain employment on the basis of the caste certificate, should be exempted. Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, met Shri Arvind Vadnerkar, Director (HR) today and discussed this issue. He told the Director (HR) that the CGM Office, Maharashtra circle, has already written letter to the Corporate Office in this connection. The GS requested the Director (HR) to take speedy action on this issue. The Director (HR) assured to do the needful.
The Staff Side of the National Council has already written to the Director (HR) complaining that, the minutes of the 39th meeting of the National Council carried a fabricated version of the discussions actually held in the meeting. Today, Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, met Shri Arvind Vadnerkar, Director (HR) and discussed the case and requested him to take remedial action. The Director (HR) assured to do the needful.
In Maharashtra circle, the process of verifying the genuineness of the caste certificates of the ST employees, has already been started by the circle administration. This is being done based on a complaint that, the employees have entered service by producing fake caste certificates. As a result, the ST employees are being harassed. BSNLEU has already taken many steps to stop their harassment, in the name of verification of caste certificates. Today, BSNLEU has written a letter to the Director (HR), demanding to exempt such of those ST employees, who are appointed under Compassionate Grounds, PWD quota and regularisation of TSMs / Casual Mazdoors scheme. These officials have not availed the benefits of the caste certificate. BSNLEU has written this letter, based on a recommendation of the Maharashtra circle administration to this effect.

Rather, the minutes is prepared in a fabricated manner to suit the convenience of the Management. The Staff Side of the National Council has written a letter to the Director (HR) who is also the Chairman of the National Council, demanding to put the record straight.
