The AUAB has called on the employees to organise a Twitter Campaign today, against the taking over of the ALTTC, by the DoT. The Twitter Campaign is to be organised between 12 pm to 2 pm. All the Circle and District Unions are requested to make the Twitter Campaign a massive success.

The AUAB has called on the employees to organise a massive Twitter Campaign tomorrow the 15-12-2023, against the grabbing of BSNL’s Rs.6000 crore asset, viz., the ALTTC, by the DoT. CHQ calls on all the Circle and District Unions to ensure that each and every Executive and Non-Executive of BSNL participates in this Twitter Campaign.

The United Nations has passed resolution two days back (on 12-12-2023), demanding immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. 10 countries, led by Israel and United States opposed the resolution. However, 153 countries, including India, supported the resolution. Thus, the resolution is passed with an overwhelming majority. We appreciate Indian government for taking a correct stand to support the resolution. On 18-10-2023, BSNLEU organised countrywide demonstrations, demanding immediate ceasefire in Gaza. This demonstration was organised as per the call of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU). But, some criticised BSNLEU, saying that the Union was supporting Hamas. They should open their eyes now and see what 153 countries are demanding now.

227 RMs working in the ETP are not issued with Presidential Orders, on the plea that, they were not conferred with Temporary Status prior to 30.09.2000. BSNLEU took up the case for a long time with the BSNL Management and the DoT. But the issue was not settled. Hence, affected employees approached court. In it’s order dated 19.04.2023, the Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta has directed the DoT to consider their case. BSNLEU has written letter to the Secretary, Telecom and the Member (Services) today, requesting to implement the court judgement.
