The CEC meeting of BSNLEU, held at New Delhi, on 9th & 10th December, 2023, has once again reiterated the need to strengthen BSNL Casual Contract Workers Federation. Under this circumstance, the Central Office-bearers meeting of BSNLCCWF was held online on 16-12-2023. The meeting has decided to conduct a “membership drive” for enrolling new members from 15-01-2024 to 15-02-2024. The Circle and District unions of BSNLEU are requested to utilise this opportunity. They should enroll new membership by approaching the contract workers and making them as members of BSNLCCWF. The CHQs of BSNLEU and BSNLCCWF will prepare the matter for printing handbills, which should be utilised for the membership drive. All the Circle and District secretaries of BSNLEU are requested to carry out this membership drive effectively.

चेन्नई सर्कल में अभूतपूर्व बारिश और बाढ़ - BSNLEU ने सीएमडी बीएसएनएल को पत्र लिखकर कर्मचारियों को बाढ़ अग्रिम राशि देने के लिए धन आवंटन करने की मांग की है। 

दिसंबर के पहले सप्ताह में चेन्नई शहर और आसपास के जिलों में अभूतपूर्व बारिश और भयंकर बाढ़ देखी गई। बाढ़ के कारण कर्मचारियों को भारी नुकसान हुआ है। इसलिए, BSNLEU ने आज सीएमडी बीएसएनएल को पत्र लिखकर कर्मचारियों को बाढ़ अग्रिम राशि देने के लिए चेन्नई सर्कल के लिए धन स्वीकृत करने की मांग की है।  

In the first week of December, Chennai city and surrounding districts witnessed unprecedented rains and severe flood. Employees have suffered severe losses due to the flood. Hence, BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL today demanding to sanction funds for Chennai circle, for the granting of Flood Advance to the employees. 

As per the decision taken in the last AUAB meeting held on 12-12-2023, the next meeting of the AUAB will be held at New Delhi at 11 am on 19–12–2023. Venue of the meeting is NFTE office. The General Secretaries who are not present in Delhi can also participate in this meeting through online. Efforts are also being taken to invite unions and associations which are not part of the AUAB to join the same and also to attend the meeting to be held on 19–12–2023. 

It is shocking to know that, a female judge in Uttar Pradesh has been sexually harassed by a Senior District Judge and his associates. She has sought the permission of the Chief Justice of India to end her life in a dignified manner. In her letter written to the Chief Justice of India, the woman judge had stated that, she had made a complaint to the “Internal Complaints Committee” of Allahabad High Court in July, 2023. However, she had stated that, the enquiry was a complete ‘farce’. The woman judge had stated in her letter that, she had been sexually harassed to the very limit. “I have been treated like utter garbage. I feel like an unwanted insect. I have no will to live any more. I have become a Walking Corpse. There is no purpose in carrying this soulless and lifeless body around anymore. There is no purpose left in my life,” stated the woman judge in her letter. She has also advised all women that, despite being a judge she could not muster a fair enquiry for herself. “Fighting against the system was a futile”, the woman judge has written in her letter. The Chief Justice of India has ordered seeking all details connected with the case.
