The CMD BSNL has called on a meeting of  Recognised Unions and Associations. The meeting will be held at the Corporate Office at 16:30 hrs., today the 24.05.2024. However, the agenda or subject matter of this meeting is not informed. The SR Branch has issued the notification for this meeting. Representatives of BSNLEU will participate in this meeting.

A meeting of the Core Committee of BSNLEU and SNATTA is held online on 23.05.2024. From BSNLEU, the meeting is attended by Com. Animesh Mitra, President, Com.P.Abhimanyu, General Secretary and Com. John Verghese, Acting General Secretary. From SNATTA, Com. Suresh Kumar, GS and Com. Abhishek Rana, AGS, attended the meeting. (One more comrade from SNATTA could not attend, due to unavoidable reasons).

Com. Animesh Mitra, presided over the meeting. Detailed deliberations were held on the non-settlement of the burning issues of the Non-Executives. The meeting expressed it’s anguish over the discrimination being meted out to the Non-Executives, by the BSNL Management, with regards to the settlement of HR issues. After in-depth discussions, the meeting took the following decisions unanimously:-

1. A joint memorandum is to be submitted to the CMD BSNL, by BSNLEU and SNATTA, demanding early settlement of the burning issues of the Non-Executives.
2. Campaign/ programme of action are to be organised demanding settlement of the issues.
3. Meetings of the Core Committee of BSNLEU and SNATTA are to be conducted at circle and district levels for the effective implementation of the above decisions.

According to the Constitution of BSNLEU, the circle conference has to be conducted once in 3 years. However, the last circle conference of J&K circle, was conducted 7 years ago, i.e.,16^th & 17^th May, 2017. The circle secretary has not taken any action to conduct the circle conference. Under these circumstances, the All India Centre of BSNLEU has withdrawn the recognition of J&K circle union and has issued notification to conduct the circle conference at Jammu on 09-06-2024. The CHQ has issued a circular today, explaining about the facts connected with this.

Management has called for a meeting at 4 pm today, for finalising the Group Health Insurance scheme. Notification has been issued for this meeting, which is enclosed here with. The proposed new premium rates are enclosed in the annexure of this notification. Comrades are requested to kindly make note of it.

A Group Health Insurance scheme has already been implemented for the willing BSNL employees from May, 2022. BSNLEU has continuously been demanding the Management to bear the premium amount of the employees, who have joined the Group Health Insurance scheme. This is in view of the fact that, the expenditure of the Company, on account of BSNL MRS, gets reduced considerably due to thousands of employees joining the Group Health Insurance scheme. However, the Management has not accepted this demand of BSNLEU so far. Presently, the insurance company is increasing the premium amount considerably. Under these circumstances, BSNLEU has once again written letter to the CMD BSNL today, demanding that the Management should bear the premium amount of the employees fully or at least to the extent of 50%.
