Originally, Medical Allowance was being paid both for the serving employees, as well as for the retired employees. In the year 2010, payment of this Medical Allowance was stopped by the Management. Thereafter, the issue was taken by BSNLEU in the National Council, as a result of which Management agreed for payment of Medical Allowance to the retired employees. However, serving employees are not getting the Medical Allowance. BSNLEU is getting requests and representations from the employees for the restoration of the Medical Allowance. Hence, the CHQ of BSNLEU has written letter to the CMD BSNL, demanding to restore payment of Medical Allowance to the willing serving employees also

However, a few miscreants are making the false propaganda that, BSNLEU has given call for demonstration, supporting the terrorist group “Hamas”. This is totally wrong. The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) has given call to it’s affiliates for organising demonstrations /protests, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and against the Israeli attacks on them. In accordance with this, the Coordination Committee of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF has decided to call on the BSNL employees, pensioners and casual / contract workers to organise protest demonstrations on 18.10.2023 throughout the country. CHQ requests all the circle and district unions to organise the programme effectively.
