The BSNL Management has suspended all the sports activities in BSNL. Many times, BSNLEU has seriously taken up this issue with the Management. The Management had replied that, the suspension of sports activities was only temporary and would be restored soon. Under these circumstances, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Hon'ble MP, has raised this issue on the floor of the Parliament. In the reply, given by Dr.Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Hon'ble Minister of State for Communications, it has been stated that, the suspension was temporary and it was part of the austerity measures, due to the financial constraints in BSNL. Further, the Hon'ble Minister had also mentioned in his reply that, the BSNL Management had received representations from unions and associations demanding the lifting of the suspension. We hope that, at least hereafter the Management will review the decision and restore the sports activities without further delay.
