BSNLEU is pressing on the BSNL Management to implement the DoP&T order which stipulates that, husband and wife working in the Central and State Government departments and in the PSUs should be posted in the same station. In BSNL, Rule-8 transfer applications of the JEs, on spouse ground, are not being considered by the Management. As per the BSNL Corporate Office letter, requests for transfer under Rule-8 of the JEs will not be considered to the surplus circles, even on spouse ground. In his meeting with CMD BSNL held on 02-11-2023, the General Secretary, BSNLEU, urged that the Management should consider the transfer request of the JEs for Rule-8 transfer on spouse ground, as per the DoP&T instructions. The CMD BSNL assured that, the matter would be looked into. In continuation of this discussion, the Establishment Branch of the Corporate Office has written to all the CGMs on 09.11.2023, calling for data regarding the number of employees who have applied for transfer on spouse ground under Rule-8 in each circle. It is also stated in that letter that, the requisite data should be sent within 10 days. Circle Secretaries are requested to ensure that the requisite data is sent to the Corporate Office within the stipulated time limit.

BSNLEU is continuously demanding that the results of the failed SC/ST candidates in LICEs should be reviewed by adopting lesser standard of evaluation. BSNLEU has specifically demanded to fill-up the unfilled ST posts of JE LICE in Telangana circle by adopting lesser standard of evaluation. However, the Management has rejected this demand. Contrary to the DoP&T instructions, BSNL Management is counting own merit candidates also against the SC/ST quota posts. BSNLEU has also demanded that the results of all the LICEs conducted in the past 5 years should be reviewed by adopting lesser standard of evaluation. Since, BSNL Management is taking a negative stand, BSNLEU will now approach the appropriate constitutional authority for the settlement of this issue.

लैंडलाइन कनेक्शन को एफटीटीएच में परिवर्तित करना - BSNLEU ने सीएमडी बीएसएनएल को पत्र लिखकर कर्मचारियों और पेंशनभोगियों के लिए किराया मुक्त लैंडलाइन कनेक्शन जारी रखने की मांग की है।

बीएसएनएल प्रबंधन ने 24.03.2024 तक सभी कॉपर केबल आधारित लैंडलाइन कनेक्शनों को एफटीटीएच कनेक्शन में बदलने का निर्णय लिया है। वर्तमान में, बीएसएनएल के सेवारत कर्मचारियों और पेंशनभोगियों को किराया मुक्त आवासीय लैंडलाइन कनेक्शन प्रदान किया जाता है। इन कनेक्शनों को एफटीटीएच में भी बदलना होगा। FTTH कनेक्शन के लिए न्यूनतम टैरिफ रु. 399/- है। 40% छूट के बाद भी कर्मचारी को एफटीटीएच कनेक्शन के लिए शेष राशि का भुगतान करना होगा। इसका मतलब किराया मुक्त आवासीय लैंडलाइन कनेक्शन की सुविधा खत्म करना है। इसलिए, BSNLEU ने आज सीएमडी बीएसएनएल को पत्र लिखकर एफटीटीएच में रूपांतरण के बाद भी किराया मुक्त आवासीय लैंडलाइन कनेक्शन जारी रखने की मांग की है। 

BSNL Management has decided to convert all the copper cable based landline connections into FTTH connections by 24.03.2024. Presently, BSNL serving employees and pensioners are provided with rent free residential landline connections. These connections will also have to be converted into FTTH. Minimum tariff for a FTTH connection is Rs.399/-. Even after a 40% rebate, employee has to pay the remaining amount for the FTTH connection. This means abolition of the facility of rent free residential landline connections. Hence, BSNLEU has written to the CMD BSNL today, demanding continuation of the rent free residential landline connections, even after conversion into FTTH.
