This is the time when Hindu-Muslim hatred is being spread for capturing political power. In such a situation, it is heartening to note that, a great news has come from Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu, regarding Hindu-Muslim unity. In the Ottapalayam locality of Tiruppur, the Hindus were not able to get land for the construction of Lord Ganesha Temple. On hearing this, the Muslim Jamaath of that area donated land worth Rs.6 lakh to the Hindus, for the construction of Lord Ganesha Temple. On that land, Hindus constructed Lord Ganesh Temple and conducted the consecration. Muslims of that area participated in the consecration by offering fruits, flowers and other items on seven plates. The Hindus garlanded the Muslims and expressed their gratitude. Unity in diversity is the tradition of our country. Unity in diversity is the essence of our Constitution.

Before meeting the CMD BSNL, the Recognised Unions and Associations held a meeting to finalise a common approach. Com.C.Singh, GS, NFTE, presided over. Com.Animesh Mitra, Com.C.K. Gundanna (BSNLEU), Com.M.S. Adasul, Com.Manish Samadiya, Com.Arvindpal Dahiya (SNEA), Com.N.D. Ram, Com.Mukesh (SEWA BSNL) participated in the meeting. It is the unanimous view of the meeting that, engaging the BCG at a cost of Rs.132 crore at this point of time is totally unwarranted. BSNL says that it has no funds even for repairing buildings & staff quarters. Mobile handsets denied to Non-Executives citing shortage of funds. Most importantly, the burning problem of Wage Revision is not settled, citing the financial condition of the Company. In such a situation spending Rs.132 crore for consultant is totally unwarranted. After detailed discussions, it was decided to raise in the meeting with the CMD BSNL, the demand of Wage Revision with 5% fitment.

सीएमडी बीएसएनएल ने कंपनी की विकासात्मक गतिविधियों, खास तौर पर कंसल्टेंट बीसीजी को नियुक्त करने के बारे में चर्चा करने के लिए 24-05-2024 को मान्यता प्राप्त यूनियनों और एसोसिएशनों को चर्चा के लिए आमंत्रित किया। BSNLEU ने हमेशा यह कहा है कि सभी पंजीकृत यूनियनों और एसोसिएशनों को उन बैठकों के लिए आमंत्रित किया जाना चाहिए जहां कंपनी की विकासात्मक गतिविधियों/नई परियोजनाओं पर चर्चा की जाती है। हालांकि, प्रबंधन ने कड़ा रुख अपनाया है कि केवल मान्यता प्राप्त यूनियनों और एसोसिएशनों को ही आमंत्रित किया जाएगा। हालांकि, 24-05-2024 को आयोजित बैठक में बीटीईयू के महासचिव, जो एक गैर-मान्यता प्राप्त यूनियन है, को भाग लेने की अनुमति दी गई है। BSNLEU ने इस मामले पर अपना विरोध दर्ज करते हुए आज सीएमडी बीएसएनएल को एक पत्र लिखा है। अपने पत्र में, BSNLEU ने कहा है कि, प्रबंधन को या तो सभी पंजीकृत यूनियनों और एसोसिएशनों को ऐसी बैठकों के लिए आमंत्रित करना चाहिए, या केवल मान्यता प्राप्त यूनियनों और एसोसिएशनों को आमंत्रित करना चाहिए। BSNLEU ने पत्र में स्पष्ट रूप से कहा है कि संदिग्ध और भेदभावपूर्ण नीति अपनाने से प्रबंधन कर्मचारियों की नजरों में हंसी का पात्र बन जाएगा।
CMD BSNL invited the recognised unions and associations for a discussion on 24-05-2024, to discuss about the developmental activities of the Company, importantly about engaging the consultant, BCG. BSNLEU has always maintained that, all the registered unions and associations should be invited for meetings where developmental activities/new projects of the Company are discussed. However, Management has taken a stiff position that only recognised unions and associations would be invited. However, in the meeting held on 24-05-2024, the general secretary of BTEU, which is an unrecognised union, has been allowed to participate. BSNLEU has written a letter to the CMD BSNL today, recording its protest on this matter. In its letter, BSNLEU has stated that, the Management should either invite all registered unions and associations for such meetings, or invite only recognised unions and associations. BSNLEU has emphatically stated in the letter that adopting a dubious and discriminative policy will make the Management a laughing stock in the eyes of the employees.
