The Silver Jubilee Celebration of BSNLEU Assam Circle was held with great enthusiasm and revolutionary spirit on 8^th May, 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall. The meeting was presided over by Bijay Thakur and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of employees, pensioners and well-wishers from various districts, commemorating 25 glorious years of struggle, unity and sacrifice in defence of BSNL and the rights of telecom workers. Addressing the gathering, Com.Animesh Chandra Mitra, GS, Com.Omkar Bhowmick, Org. Secretary (CHQ), Com.M.R.Das, President (AIBDPA) and Com.Jayanta Kumar Choudhary, CS, BSNLEU, highlighted the historic formation and militant struggles of BSNLEU. The General Secretary elaborately dealt with key issues concerning the 3rd PRC, IDA settlement, perks and allowances, Labour Laws, NEPP promotion policy, VRS-related matters and the financial viability of BSNL. He also explained in detail the role of CMD BSNL, DoT, BSNL Management and Government policies relating to the future of BSNL and its employees. The leaders called upon all comrades to further strengthen unity and carry forward the legacy of democratic struggles with renewed determination and commitment. A vibrant cultural programme presented by employees and family members of BSNLEU Assam Circle added colour and enthusiasm to the celebration, making the event memorable and successful. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Bijoy Deka.

AUAB ने 12.06.2026 को नई दिल्ली में संचार भवन तक एक विशाल मार्च - रैली आयोजित करने का फैसला किया है।

आज नई दिल्ली के ईस्टर्न कोर्ट स्थित सेवा बीएसएनएल कार्यालय में AUAB की एक महत्वपूर्ण बैठक आयोजित की गई। सभी घटक संगठनों के महासचिवों/प्रतिनिधियों ने निम्नलिखित विवरणों के अनुसार बैठक में भाग लिया : 

BSNLEU : साथी  अनिमेष मित्रा, महासचिव. साथी  पी. अभिमन्यु, उपाध्यक्ष. 
एनएफटीई बीएसएनएल :         साथी चंडेश्वर सिंह, महासचिव. 
SNEA :    साथी  एम.एस. अदासुल, महासचिव  और साथी  ए.पी. दहिया, सहायक  महासचिव.

एनएफटीई के महासचिव  और AUAB के अध्यक्ष, साथी  चंडेश्वर सिंह ने बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। BSNLEU के महासचिव  और AUAB के संयोजक, साथी  अनिमेष मित्रा ने सभी का स्वागत किया और एजेंडा के विषयों पर अपनी बात रखी। एजेंडा के विषयों पर विस्तार से चर्चा की गई और सर्वसम्मति से निम्नलिखित निर्णय लिए गए : 

1. AUAB 20 मई, 2026 को विरोध प्रदर्शनों की एक श्रृंखला आयोजित करेगा और अपने सदस्यों को 20.05.2026 को पेंशनभोगियों के संयुक्त मंच द्वारा आयोजित धरने में भाग लेने के लिए लामबंद करेगा; इस धरने का उद्देश्य लंबित आईडीए किस्तों के तत्काल भुगतान की मांग करना है।
2. तीसरे पीआरसी(वेतन आयोग) के मुद्दों का समाधान न होने पर, AUAB ने 12.06.2026 को संचार भवन तक एक विशाल मार्च रैली आयोजित करने का निर्णय लिया।
3. बैठक में बीएसएनएल के लिए एक नियमित सीएमडी(अध्यक्ष एवं प्रबंध निदेशक) की नियुक्ति की मांग की गई और बीएसएनएल के सीएमडी के रूप में निजी क्षेत्र के किसी व्यक्ति को नियुक्त करने के कदम का कड़ा विरोध किया गया। (d) बीएसएनएल के सीएमडी से मिलने का निर्णय लिया गया, ताकि मानव संसाधन  से जुड़े मुद्दों का समाधान न होने, सीजीएम (तमिलनाडु सर्कल) द्वारा औपचारिक/अनौपचारिक बैठकों से इनकार करने, और साथ ही चेन्नई/तमिलनाडु सर्कल के पदाधिकारियों को दी गई सज़ा के मुद्दे के समाधान पर चर्चा की जा सके।

An important meeting of the AUAB is held SEWA BSNL Office in Eastern Court at New Delhi today. General Secretaries / Representatives of all the constituents attended the meeting as per the following details:-

Com.Chandeshwar Singh, GS, NFTE & Chairman of the AUAB, presided over the meeting. Com.Animesh Mitra, GS, BSNLEU & Convenor of the AUAB, welcomed everyone and spoke on the agenda items. Threadbare discussions were held on the agenda items and the following decisions are taken unanimously:-

1. The AUAB will organise a protest chain on 20th May, 2026 and mobilise its members to participate in the dharna programme of the pensioners  joint platform on 20.05.2026, demanding the immediate payment of the pending IDA instalments. 
2. On non-settlement of 3rd PRC, the AUAB decided to organise a massive March to Sanchar Bhawan rally on 12.06.2026.
3. The meeting demanded appointment of a regular CMD BSNL and strongly opposed the move to appoint a private sector person as the CMD BSNL. 
4. Decided to meet the CMD BSNL to discuss the non-settlement of HR issues, denial of formal / informal meetings by the CGM, Tamil Nadu circle and also settlement of punishment issue of the office bearers chennai/ TN circles.

It is the need of the hour to unitedly and effectively fight against the Government and the Management to safeguard the common interests of regular employees, pensioners and contract/casual labourers, ensuring justice, equality and protection of their rights. But, it has come to the notice of CHQ that the formation and functioning of the BSNL Coordination Committee in certain circles and districts is not up to the expected level. The Coordination Committee, comprising BSNLEU, AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF, is a crucial platform for ensuring united and effective functioning on common issues affecting employees, pensioners and contract workers. However, reports indicate that in some areas, the committee is either inactive or not functioning properly. In this regard, CHQ requests all Circle Secretaries to take the matter seriously and ensure the proper and effective functioning of the BSNL Coordination Committee at both circle and district levels. It must be kept in mind that it is our collective responsibility to coordinate with AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF and strengthen unity in action. If any difficulties are being faced in this regard, the same may be immediately brought to the notice of CHQ, so that the issue can be taken up and resolved in coordination with the CHQs of AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF.

It has become a recurring practice for the BSNL Management to engage in prolonged court battles against the genuine demands of its employees, leading to avoidable expenditure of BSNL. One such instance is the issue concerning the Presidential Order for the employees recruited on Compassionate Ground Appointments. Employees appointed on or after 01.10.2000, as nominees of DoT/DTS/DTO employees who died in harness up to 30.09.2000, have been subjected to discriminatory treatment. Despite a clear order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 26.07.2023 granting relief in such cases, the Management has limited the implementation of the judgment only to those individuals who approached the court, while denying the same benefits to other similarly placed employees. This selective implementation is unjust and contrary to the principles of equality. BSNLEU has strongly protested this approach and has written to the CMD BSNL, urging that instead of wasting resources on litigation, the Management should uniformly extend the benefits of the Supreme Court judgment to all eligible candidates. The Union has specifically demanded that Presidential Offer (PO) be issued to the remaining candidates who are similarly placed and have already approached the court seeking justice on the same grounds.
