Tamil Nadu Circle Union organised an enthusiastic Silver Jubilee celebration of BSNLEU.

An enthusiastic celebration of BSNLEU's Silver Jubilee was organised at Madurai, Tamil Nadu, on 24.06.2026. The Tamil Nadu Circle Union of BSNLEU, together with the Madurai District Union, had made extensive preparations for this celebration. Com. Maheswaran, Circle President, presided over the programme. Com. Marimuthu, Circle Secretary, delivered the welcome address. Com. Babu Radhakrishnan, Circle Vice President, conducted the programme. Com. S. Chellappa, AGS, delivered the introductory speech. Com. Animesh Mitra, General Secretary, addressed the meeting and spoke elaborately on the issues of BSNL's revival, the government's anti-BSNL policies, and other important issues concerning the employees, including the efforts being taken to settle the most burning issue of Wage Revision. Com. P. Abhimanyu, Vice-President (CHQ), addressed the meeting and explained the unique role played by BSNLEU in building and strengthening the unity of the unions and associations and thereby defeating the nefarious plans of the government to disinvest and privatise BSNL. He also highlighted the important achievements of BSNLEU that improved the working conditions of the employees. Com. P. Sampath, TNUEF, Com. Badri, Bharathi Puthagalayam, Com. R. Rajasekar, CS, AIBDPA, Com. Syed Ethris, CS, TNTCWU, and Com. Alagu Nachiar, Convenor, BSNLWWCC, addressed the meeting. Sixty-one senior leaders, who had dedicated their entire lives to BSNLEU and the trade union movement, were honoured at this Silver Jubilee celebration. 10 comrades among them addressed the meeting. The CHQ heartily congratulated the Tamil Nadu Circle Union for organising this memorable celebration.
