BSNLEU Tamil Nadu Circle Conducts Successful CWC Meeting at Madurai.

An impressive Circle Working Committee (CWC) meeting was successfully held at Madurai, Tamil Nadu, organized by the BSNLEU Tamil Nadu Circle Union. The meeting witnessed the participation of Circle Office Bearers and District Secretaries from 17 districts across the different part of Tamilnadu. Com. Maheswaran, President presided over the meeting. The session began with Com. B. Mari Mutthu, Circle Secretary, presenting the report before the house for detailed discussion. The CWC meeting was inaugurated by Com. Animesh Mitra, General Secretary, who elaborated on the current national scenario. He critically highlighted the negative approach of the BJP Government towards Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and explained the implications of the labour codes introduced by the Central Government.

He emphasized the urgent need for BSNLEU to secure approvals from the BSNL Board, for the Wage agreement which are presently pending with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The approval of wage agreement are closely linked with government policy decisions, particularly concerning financial relaxations for BSNL. He also underlined key issues such as the new promotion policy, revision of perks and allowances, and the demand for 30% SAB contributions for BSNL recruitees.

Com. P. Abhimanyu, Vice President, addressed the gathering and spoke about the current challenges and responsibilities of BSNL employees. He also reminded CWC members about their crucial role in the forthcoming 10th Membership Verification (MV). The subject committee discussions on organizational review were highly encouraging, with active participation from members. Important matters such as cadre-related issues, improvement of BSNL services, and problems faced by contract labourers were thoroughly discussed. Com. S. Chellappa (AGS),, and Com. Syed Edhries Cs, Tntcwu were among the other prominent speakers who addressed the meeting and shared their valuable insights. The meeting concluded on a positive and determined note, reflecting strong unity and commitment towards addressing organizational and employee-related issues.
