BSNLEU Uttar Pradesh (East) Circle Holds Successful Circle Working Committee Meeting.
The BSNLEU Uttar Pradesh (East) Circle successfully organised its Circle Working Committee (CWC) meeting on 29th June at the GM Office, Lucknow. The meeting was inaugurated by Com. Anand Kumar Singh, AGS, CHQ, who presided over the house. In his inaugural address, he elaborated on the significance of the 10th Membership Verification (MV) and highlighted the crucial role of BSNLEU in overcoming the present challenges facing the organisation.
After paying homage to the martyrs, the proceedings of the CWC commenced with the participation of Circle Office Bearers and District Secretaries from across the circle. Com. Tilak Raj Choudhury, Circle Secretary, presented the report for discussion, reviewing the activities undertaken by the Circle Union since the last CWC meeting held at Ayodhya. District Secretaries actively participated in the deliberations and shared their views on organisational issues.
Addressing the meeting, Com. Animesh Mitra, General Secretary, strongly criticised the Modi Government's policies, particularly the implementation of the Labour Codes and the disinvestment of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in favour of corporates and multinational companies. He explained in detail the significance of the National Demand Day on 1st July and the proposed March to Parliament during the forthcoming Monsoon Session on the PRC issue. The CWC also discussed strategies to ensure the success of the 10th Membership Verification by securing the support of more employees across the UP East Circle.
A significant development at the end of the meeting was the enthusiastic participation of a large number of working women, who came together to form the ad hoc body of the BSNL Working Women Coordination Committee (BSNLWWCC) in the UP East Circle. Com. Animesh Mitra also briefed the participants on the decisions of the BSNLWWCC Mumbai Convention and emphasised the need to strengthen the organisation among working women in the circle.
