Withdraw the decision to implement 2nd VRS in BSNL – BSNLEU writes letter to the CMD BSNL.
It is reliably learnt that, the BSNL Board of Directors have approved a proposal for implementing 2nd VRS in BSNL. It is being argued that, 38% of BSNL’s revenue is being spent for paying salary to the employees, which is a huge amount. The BSNL Management and the government are refusing to accept the fact that BSNL’s revenue collection has not shown any significant increase, despite implementation of 3 revival packages. Extreme delay in rolling out BSNL’s 4G service, poor quality of the 4G equipments supplied by the TCS, massive surrendering of FTTH connections due to poor quality of service, are the reasons why BSNL is unable to increase it’s revenue collection substantially. Instead of rectifying the wrong policies of the government and the inefficiency of the BSNL Management, 2nd VRS is being projected as the solution for solving BSNL's financial crises. According to BSNLEU, implementation of 2nd VRS in BSNL is nothing but preparation for converting BSNL into a sick company and for handing it over to the big corporates through privatisation. Being the Main Recognised Trade Union in BSNL, we thought that it is necessary to write to the Management, pointing out that the 2nd VRS is totally unwarranted to BSNL. BSNLEU has written a detailed letter to the CMD BSNL today, demanding that the BSNL Board of Directors should withdraw their decisions to implement 2nd VRS in BSNL.
