Wage Revision w.e.f 01-01-2007 - some bitter truths.

The last Wage Revision was given w.e.f 01-01-2007. BSNLEU was the only recognised union at that time. In the wage negotiations, Management offered very low pay scales. But BSNLEU fought and got pay scales with upto 21 and 22 years span. In that wage revision employees got a very high fitment of 30%. Thereafter, 78.2% IDA merger was also settled. These are the two reasons for the stagnation. Employees should not forget these facts. To settle that wage revision from 01-01-2007, BSNLEU went on a 2 day strike. NFTE did not join that strike. Not only that. When BSNLEU went on strike, NFTE wrote a letter to the Management saying “they are not joining the strike”. These are bitter truths. Employees have not forgotten.

Presently, Wage Revision is not settled mainly because of the negative attitude of the Chairman of the Wage Revision Committee. He is trying to cut down the pay scales already finalised in the Wage Negotiating Committee. This gentleman is saying that the pay scales were framed without vision in the last Wage Revision.
