Torrential rains and massive landslides cause huge disaster in Wayanad, Kerala - BSNLEU expresses it's grief and calls upon comrades to extend their helping hand.
Torrential rains and massive landslides have struck Wayanad district in Kerala. A large number of people are afraid to have been killed. So far, the death toll is put at 200. But, more people are suspected to have been killed. Around 1,500 people have been rescued from the place of the disaster. Rescuers from Army, National Disaster Response Force, Forest and Fire departments are continuing relief and rescue operations. BSNLEU conveys it's heartfelt condolences to the families of those who are killed in the disaster. This is a very big human tragedy and it is the need of the hour for everyone of us to extend our helping hand for the relief of the affected people.
