Strike campaign programme gathers momentum – Massive Convention held in Kolkata Telephones.
In response to the call given by CHQ to organise a massive campaign for the All India General Strike on 12th February 2026, the Coordination Committee of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and BSNLCCWF, Kolkata Telephones, organised a large and successful convention at CTO Hall, Kolkata, on 29.01.2026. The convention witnessed an impressive participation of regular employees, pensioners and contract workers, reflecting the growing unity among all sections of BSNL employees. A presidium comprising, Com. Jayanta Ghosh, Com. Manisha Biswas and Com. Aghor Sikdar efficiently conducted the proceedings of the meeting. At the outset, Com. Sisir Roy, Convenor, BSNL Coordination Committee, explained the necessity and importance of organising such conventions in Kolkata. Com. Abhas Roy Choudhury, Vice President, CITU, inaugurated the convention and elaborated on the present political and economic scenario of the country, highlighting the sustained attacks on BSNL. Com. Sanjib Banerjee, CS, AIBDPA, Com. Debabrata Basu, CS, CORTO and Com. Sankar Nepal, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, addressed the gathering and spoke in details on the present condition of BSNL, the role of the management, the importance of BSNL services, Wage Revision and Pension Revision, retrenchment of contract labourers and other related issues. The speakers also highlighted the importance of the joint struggle for the 3rd PRC. The convention unanimously resolved to organise similar conventions at every OA and BA level to further strengthen the strike campaign. The programme clearly reflected the growing unity, determination and militancy of BSNLEU, AIBDPA, CORTO, CTTMU and EPFPA to intensify the struggle and ensure the grand success of the All India General Strike on 12th February, 2026.
