Status of the IDA arrears payment case.

BSNLEU has got an order from the Hon’ble High Court for the payment of IDA arrears to the Non-Executives of BSNL. However, the DoT is pressurising the BSNL Management not to pay the IDA arrears to the Non-Executives of BSNL. The DoT has already directed BSNL Management to withdraw the letter issued by the CMD BSNL on 27.10.2021, wherein it is stated that the IDA arrears would be paid whenever funds become available. If IDA arrears is paid to the Non-Executives by BSNL, then the DoT will also have to pay DA arrears to the pensioners. In this background, the CHQ has already requested our advocate in the Kerala High Court to take legal action against the BSNL Management, for not implementing the order of the Hon’ble Court. Yesterday, Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS discussed this issue in detail with the advocate, Shri V.V. Suresh. He replied that, the Kerala High Court is reopening only on 23.05.2022, after the vacation and assured to file the case immediately after reopening of the Court.
