Resolution passed in the CEC meeting of BSNLEU on 3rd Wage Revision.
The non-settlement of the 3rd Wage Revision in BSNL has created frustration and demotivation among the employees. While the top managers of the company, viz., the CGMs, PGMs, GMs, etc., have got Pay Revision, as well as revision of all their allowances based on the recommendations of the 7th CPC, the employees working under these officers are denied of their Wage Revision. Such an anomalous situation is not prevailing in any of the Public Sector Undertaking in the country. The stand of the government that, BSNL employees are not entitled for 3rd Wage Revision, on the plea that the Company is running in loss, is untenable. It is an undeniable fact that, BSNL has become loss-making only due to the wrong policies of the successive governments. For example, the private operators started their 4G service in 2014. However, even after 8 years, BSNL has not been able to launch it’s 4G service. This has seriously affected the financial condition of the Company. But, this is purely an outcome of the policy of the government. The employees have got nothing to do with this. Hence, denial of Wage Revision to the employees, by linking it to the financial condition of the company is totally unacceptable. Due to the non-settlement of the 3rd Wage Revision, around 10,000 Non-Executives are suffering from the problem of stagnation. Many of the employees have not got their annual increments for the past 4 years. As a result of this, these employees are totally demoralised. Hence, this Central Executive Committee meeting of BSNLEU demands that, the BSNL Management and the DoT should immediately take steps for the early settlement of the Wage Revision of the employees.
