Renewal of Group Term Insurance (GTI) to be finalised next week – Circle Secretaries requested to send proposals.

On 29.01.2026, a meeting was held between the BSNL administration and the General Secretaries / Representatives of the recognised unions and associations regarding the renewal of the Group Term Insurance (GTI). Following the meeting, the administration has already issued the minutes, wherein the proposals submitted by the unions and associations have been duly incorporated. As informed by the administration, these proposals will be placed before the LIC authorities in a meeting scheduled to be held on 02nd February 2026, with a view to finalising the renewal of the GTI policy. In this context, Circle Secretaries are requested to forward any additional proposals or suggestions for improving the terms and conditions of the GTI policy at the earliest, so that the same can be appropriately taken up. It may be recalled that BSNLEU has already raised the demand for enhancing the insurance coverage to ₹50 lakhs for Non-Executives, at par with the Executives.
