Remove the discrimination in allowing 2nd Saturday as a closed holiday- BSNLEU writes letter to the Director (HR)..

BSNL Management is adopting discriminative policy in the matter of allowing 2nd Saturday as a closed holiday to the Executives and Non- Executives. One section of the employees are being allowed 2nd Saturday as a closed holiday, while another section is being denied of the same. Recently, the Establishment Branch of the Corporate Office has issued a letter, wherein it is stated that, 2nd Saturday as a closed holiday is permissible for the circle offices and offices of the PGM, GM, TDM and TDE, including TRA, Commercial, Admin. However, this 2nd Saturday as a closed holiday, is not being allowed to the Non Executives who are carrying out operational duties at the field level. This discrimination is not acceptable. BSNLEU has written a letter to the Director(HR) today,  demanding that 2nd Saturday should be allowed as a closed holiday also to the Non- Executives carrying out operational duties at the field level. If 2nd Saturday cannot be allowed to them, then they should be provided with compensatory off, in lieu of 2nd Saturday.
