Payment of IDA arrears to the Non-Executives is being deliberately and wantonly delayed by the CMD BSNL- BSNLEU writes to the CMD BSNL stating that, it would go on agitational programmes, if payment is further delayed..

The BSNL Management has illegally frozen the IDA instalments that have become due w.e.f. 01.10.2020, 01.01.2021 and 01.04.2021. BSNLEU went to the Hon’ble Kerala High Court, which gave order on 17.12.2020, directing the CMD BSNL to make payment of the IDA arrears. BSNLEU wrote many letters to the CMD BSNL, demanding payment of the IDA arrears. But the CMD BSNL avoided making payment on the plea that, the DPE has not announced the increased IDA rates. Thereafter, on 02.08.2021, the DPE announced the increased IDA rates w.e.f. 01.10.2020, 01.01.2021 and 01.04.2021. Thereafter, on 27.10.2021, the Corporate Office issued a letter stating that, IDA arrears would be paid when the fund is available. It is already 4 months since that letter was issued. In between, BSNLEU has met the CMD BSNL several times and requested to make the payment. But, all the pleadings of BSNL have fallen on deaf ears. It has become very clear now that,  the CMD BSNL is deliberately and wantonly not paying the IDA arrears to the Non-Executives, Hence, today, BSNLEU has once again written a letter to the CMD BSNL, demanding immediate payment of the IDA arrears. BSNLEU has also stated that, it would be forced to go on agitational programmes, if payment of IDA arrears is delayed further.
