Payment of employees contribution of the EPF arrears.

In respect of the employees recruited before 01.10.2000, but whose actual appointment took place after 01.10.2000, GPF was implemented for the first few years, and subsequently they were switched over to the EPF. BSNLEU is strongly demanding that the arrears of employees contribution, of the EPF, during the period for which GPF was implemented, should be borne only by the Management, since it was the mistake committed by the Management. This issue was discussed in the 35^th meeting of the National Council, and direction was given by the Chairperson that, provision of the EPF Act should be followed in this respect. However, this is not implemented so far. This issue was discussed by com. P. Abhimanyu, GS, with shri P.D. Chiraniya, GM (CA) yesterday. The GS strongly demanded that as per the EPF Act, the employee contribution arrears should be borne by the Management only, and that the decision of the National Council should be implemented. The GM (CA) assured to do the needful.
