Observe Protest Week in BSNL Offices and Exchanges - Solidarity with Cuba.

The United States has imposed a harsh and inhuman blockade on Cuba, severely affecting the daily lives of its people. Reports indicate that restrictions on essential supplies such as oil, food and medicines have created a humanitarian crisis. The shortage of fuel has disrupted electricity generation, transportation and healthcare services, leaving hospitals struggling and putting countless lives at risk. This blockade is widely seen as an attempt to force a regime change and undermine Cuba’s sovereignty. Despite these challenges, the Cuban people and their government continue to stand firm with resilience and determination. In this context, the Executive Committee meeting of the Trade Union International (Transport and Communications), held in Mexico on 19th & 20th March 2026, has called upon workers across the world to observe a “Global Week of Solidarity with Cuba” from 6th to 12th April 2026. Responding to this call, the All India Centre of BSNLEU urges all circle and district unions to actively participate by organising demonstrations, gate meetings, hall meetings and other suitable programs during this period. These activities will help express our solidarity with the Cuban people and raise awareness about their ongoing struggles. All Circle unions are requested to finalise their plans in a timely manner and ensure maximum participation of BSNL comrades to make this protest week a grand success.
