Number of mobile customers reduced by 2 crore in March, 2019 - reports TRAI.
Airtel and Vodafone Idea have introduced minimum recharging plans. It is reported that this is to weed out low paying customers, with the view to increase their ARPU (Average Revenue Per User). As a result of this, the number of mobile users in the country has come down from 118.3 crore to 116 crore in March, 2019, reports the TRAI. Accordingly, Vodafone Idea’s customers declined by 1.4 crore and Bharti Airtel’s customers declined by 1.5 crore. However, Reliance Jio has increased it’s customers by 94.9 lakh in March, 2019.
