No clamp down on information – warns the Supreme Court..
While hearing a case on Covid surge, the Supreme Court of India has ordered that, the government should not harass any citizen, for communicating their grievances on social media. The Supreme Court has stated that, it will be treated as "contempt of court" if any citizen is harassed by the government for posting their grievances in social media. Perhaps, the Supreme Court has stated this, by taking into account that, an FIR has been filed against one Shashank Yadav, at Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, for going on Twitter and asking for an oxygen cylinder for his 88 year old relative.
