Nationwide dharna of Contract & Casual Workers – A resounding success..

BSNL employees and contract/casual workers today staged a powerful nationwide dharna at CGMT offices across the country, demanding justice for contractual and casual labourers. At the call of BSNLCCWF, memoranda were submitted to the Management pressing for settlement of long-pending issues. BSNLEU extended full solidarity by mobilising regular employees, ensuring massive participation. Reports from circles confirm that regular and contract workers jointly conducted the demonstrations and submitted memoranda to the authorities. CHQ has also endorsed and forwarded the charter of demands of the contract/casual workers to BSNL Management. The united strength of regular and contract workers has sent out a strong message – Management must resolve the issues through meaningful negotiation, failing which intensified trade union action will follow.
