Management makes mockery of a genuine demand - BSNLEU gives a befitting reply.

BSNLEU has written letter to the CMD BSNL, raising the demand that, the Directly Recruited employees should also get 1st and 2nd promotions under NEPP, on completion of 4 years and 7 years respectively, at par with the employees absorbed from the DoT. Instead of settling this demand, the Corporate Office has written letter to BSNLEU, proposing to remove clause 3.2 of the NEPP. This is the clause as per which the employees absorbed from the DoT get 1st and 2nd upgradations on completion of 4 years and 7 years respectively. The argument of the Management is that, all the employees absorbed form the DoT have already got their 1st and 2nd upgradations under NEPP and that there is no need to continue with clause 3.2 of the NEPP. This proposal of the Management is nothing but making mockery of a genuine demand. This is because, the Executives are getting their 1st and 2nd promotions under EPP, on completion of 4/6 years and 5 years respectively. If the Non-Executives demand promotions at par with the Executives, whether the Management will remove the clauses of the NEPP, which give 1st and 2nd upgradations to the Executives on completion of 4/6 years and 5 years respectively? BSNLEU has strongly opposed the proposal of the Management. BSNLEU has once again reiterated that, the Directly Recruited employees should also get 1st and 2ndupgradations on completion of 4 years and 7 years respectively.
