Lula got 50.8% of votes compared with 49.2% secured by Bolsonaro. The Supreme Electoral Court confirmed the election of Lula as the president of Brazil. Lula da Silva is a leftist leader. His victory consolidates a new “pink tide” in Latin America, after landmark leftist victories in Colombia and Chile’s elections.
