Identify the real face of BTEU.

It is being brought to our notice from a number of places that, BTEU is involved in a vilifying campaign against BSNLEU. BTEU is accusing that, BSNLEU is unable to settle Wage Revision and other important problems of the employees. It obvious that, BTEU has started it’s campaign, keeping the forthcoming Membership Verification in mind.

Firstly, we need to tell a few words about BTEU. It is only a letter pad union, having a few hundred members throughout the country. It is affiliated to BMS (Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh). Everyone knows that BMS is an organ of the RSS and hence BTEU is very close to the ruling BJP. Utilising it’s closeness to the ruling BJP and to the Ministers, the BTEU could have settled the most burning issue of BSNL employees, viz., 3rd Wage Revision. JTO LICE candidates are frustrated because there are no vacancies in 11 circles and only a few vacancies in 9 circles. By using it’s closeness to the Minister, the BTEU could have settled this problem and could have brought relief to the DR JEs. But this was not done by the BTEU. The only activity of BTEU is, meeting the Ministers every now and then, offering shawls and bouquets to them and uploading those photos on their website. 

Under the banner of the AUAB, BSNLEU has taken maximum efforts to settle the 3rd Wage Revision issue. This is known to the entire employees. Under the banner of the AUAB, notice was given for indefinite strike from 03-12-2018, demanding settlement of 3rd Wage Revision. But, the strike was deferred following assurances given by Shri Manoj Sinha, the then Hon’ble Minister of Communications. But, it is an undeniable fact that, BTEU did not sign the strike notice for this indefinite strike. There after, the AUAB organised a historic 3 day strike on 18th, 19th & 20th February, 2019, demanding settlement of 3rd Wage Revision. But, BTEU did not join this strike also. Thus, BTEU has always acted as a strike-breaker and a betrayer. BTEU should tell the employees now, what it has settled for the employees, during the past 8 years of BJP rule. Nothing. It is exactly for this reason that, BTEU is being ignored and neglected by BSNL employees. BTEU is surviving only on the oxygen being supplied by the government. It is needless for us to say that, it is the same government, which has denied 3^rd Wage Revision to the employees. Now you can identify the real face of the BTEU.
