Human Chain programme against the handing over of BSNL‘s mobile towers and optic fibre to the private, in the name of National Monetisation Pipeline.
The government has already decided to hand over BSNL‘s 14,917 mobile towers to the private. Action is being taken on a fast track basis to implement this decision. In the last year‘s budget (2021-2022) it is clearly stated that, the government will earn Rs.40,000 crore by way of handing over the mobile towers and optic fibre of BSNL and MTNL, to the private. If BSNL‘s mobile towers and optic fibre are handed over to the private, then BSNL has to pay money to use it’s own mobile towers and optic fibre. This will kill BSNL. Similarly, the government has already taken decision to hand over Bharatnet’s 2,80,000 kilometres length of optic fibre to the private. All these are being done in the name of National Monetisation Pipeline. This is nothing but part of the overall game plan of the government to kill the Public Sector of the country. Hence, the Coordination Committee(CoC) of BSNLEU, AIBDPA and the BSNLCCWF has decided to organise a week-long campaign among the employees, culminating into a Human Chain programme on 07-07-2022. The CHQ calls upon all the circle and district unions to take steps from now onwards to implement the Human Chain programme successfully.
