Government has no proposal to fix the retirement age of government employees as 60 year or 33 years of service, whichever is earlier - State Minister of Finance informs the Parliament.

Wild rumours have been spread by mischievous elements that the government is going to fix the retirement age as 60 years of age, or 33 years of service, whichever is earlier. This rumour is also one of the threatening which made a large number of employees to opt for VRS. However, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance has informed the Parliament yesterday that the government has no proposal to fix the retirement age of government employees as 60 year or 33 years of service, whichever is earlier.
