Government calls for applications for 5G spectrum trial.

Telecom operators have been directed by the DoT, to apply within the next 10 days, for 5G spectrum trials. 5G spectrum will be allotted to the telecom operators for a period of 6 months for this trial. The government has earmarked the 3300-3600 MHz band for 5G trial. Apart from this, 700 MHz and 26 GHz bands can also be used by the operators for the 5G spectrum trial. The trials would be conducted both in the urban and rural areas.
