- Conversion from GPF to EPF - case of employees whose Presidential Orders have been cancelled – GS, BSNLEU, discusses with the CMD BSNL.
The Presidential Orders (PO) that had been issued to some BSNL employees have subsequently been cancelled by the DoT. However, they are still continuing in the GPF Scheme. Especially, 73 officials of Odisha circle, working in CNTxE have not been shifted to EPF. They should have been shifted to the EPF Scheme immediately after cancellation of their POs. Many of these employees are in the verge of retirement. If they are not migrated to EPF system immediately, there will be lot of complications at the time of their retirement. The CMD BSNL told that, implementation of EPF to these officials from the date of their appointment will result in payment of huge amount of penalty to the EPF Organisation by BSNL. At the same time, he assured that the Management will soon find out a methodology to solve this problem.
