Extended CEC Meeting of NE-2 Circle held at Imphal.
The Extended Circle Working Committee (CWC) meeting of BSNLEU, NE-II Circle was held on 10th January at Imphal, Youth Hostel, with enthusiastic participation from members of Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. CEC members, general members and leaders of AIBDPA, SNEA, BSNLCCWF and CITU attended and addressed the gathering. Com. R. K. Das, President, presided over the meeting. Senior leaders Com. L. Saheb Singh and Com. K. Singh highlighted the vital role of BSNLEU in strengthening the organisation in the NE-II Circle, leading to the enrolment of around 30 new members. The meeting was greeted by Com. Ksh. Santa Singh, Secretary, Manipur CITU State Committee, Com. M. Kulla Singh, CS, AIBDPA NE-2, Com. Arup Bargohen, CS, BSNLCCWF, NE-II, Com. S. Rajendra Mutei, District Secretary, SNEA and Com. W. Dinesh Singh, AGM, Manipur BA. At the outset, Com. L. Suchandra Singh, Circle Secretary, placed the draft report before the CEC. District Secretaries Com. Jiten Gogoi (Nagaland), Com. Jirli Ngomdri (Arunachal Pradesh), and Com. P.K. Brighter (Manipur) spoke on ground-level issues concerning BSNL services and role of the management. Addressing the gathering, Com. Animesh Mitra, General Secretary, spoke on the challenges faced by BSNL, delay in wage settlement, Labour Codes, Shram Shakti NITI-2025, pension issues, outsourcing policy and called for participation in the 12 July General Strike. Nearly 100 members, including employees, pensioners, casual labourers and District Secretaries from the three BAs, attended the open session. The meeting stressed unity, collective struggle and organisational strengthening to safeguard BSNL and protect employees’ interests.
