Deputation Policy – A Clear Discrimination

It is unfortunate that the Management has adopted a discriminatory, two-pronged approach on deputation transfers.

 

  1. Earlier, the deputation period was fixed at 5 years, which was later reduced to 2 years. Despite our repeated persuasion to restore it to 5 years for those opting deputation within BSNL, the demand was not considered.

 

  1. Shockingly, the same Management has now issued orders allowing a 7-year deputation period for employees going on deputation outside BSNL.

 

This raises a serious question: Why is the deputation period restricted to only 2 years for employees who want to remain within BSNL, while extended to 7 years for those leaving BSNL?
