Delay in approval of Wage Agreement and settlement of HR issues – Countrywide agitational programme on 08.01.2026.
BSNL Management has been adopting an indifferent attitude by not placing the Wage Agreement for approval before the Management Committee and the Board of Directors. The prolonged delay for the approval of Wage Agreement has caused widespread resentment among employees. In this backdrop, all the General Secretaries and representatives of the unions and associations in BSNL reviewed the situation in a meeting held on 18.12.2025 and unanimously decided to launch a countrywide agitational programme on 08th January 2026. The meeting also decided to assess the response of the Management on various HR issues, particularly the placement of the Wage Negotiation Committee report and its recommendations for approval by the Board and onward submission to the DoT, as well as issues pertaining to the Chennai Telecom District (CHTD) and Tamil Nadu Circle. It was further decided that if the Wage Agreement is not placed for approval in the forthcoming Board meeting, and if no satisfactory response is received from the Management on the above HR issues, a formal notice of the agitational programme will be served on the Management by the end of this month. As part of the agitational programme, on 08th January 2026, Executives and Non-Executives across the country will participate in lunch-hour demonstrations to protest against the continued indifferent attitude of the BSNL Management towards staff issues, including the settlement of the 3rd PRC and the Wage Agreement.
