Corporate Office issues letter regarding the exercise to change union membership.

On 06.12.2019, the SR Branch of the Corporate Office issued a letter with regards to the employees exercising their option to change their union membership. In that letter, a provision had been included stating that, employees could only change their union membership through the ERP. On 09.12.2019, BSNLEU wrote to the BSNL Management, strongly opposing this clause. BSNLEU has also expressed it’s protest for implementing such changes, without consulting the Recognised Unions. These issues were also discussed with the GM(SR), by BSNLEU representatives on 11.12.2019. Consequent to this, the SR Branch has issued letter yesterday, dropping the above mentioned clause. The letter also states that:-

1. The forthcoming exercise to change union membership, starting from 16.12.2019 to 15.01.2020, will be skipped.
2. Hereafter the exercise to change union membership will be held only once in a year, starting from 16^th June to 15^th July.      

BSNLEU has given it’s consent for both the above two proposals.
